Hi All,
I have been searching all day over this form also the SC forum and just cant seem to find any workshops that are recommended in Brisbane.
I know of PT at Brendale, but I am a long way from them and was wanting to know if anyone can recommend a workshop in the underwood/slackscreek area that knows their LS1's. I know there is the Brock Shop, but are there any others?
I have a VT SS Ls1 that needs an engine out job for a gasket change, and Holden dealership want to charge and arm and a leg. PT have given a good reasonable price, but I can find anyone in my area at all.
Thanks
Mark
I know it's probably more hassle to take it over to the Northside to PT, but I'd still do it just so you know you're going to get things done properly....

PT is definately 1st choice. If its minor mechanical stuff Brad at Mr Muffler in Sumner Park is pretty good and is an agent for PT anyway. They have done cams etc and had PT do all the tuning. If you have to keep it on this side of the river then Brad is the man. There isnt anyone else i could recomend.

if my Donk had to come out for ANYTHING... it would be only at Power Torque engines ( for a stroker)

If it is something as "simple" as gasket changes - then whilst PT is great at almost everything and most's first choice in Brissie (I'm also @ Springwood & my ute at PT now).. if you really dont want to take it to Brendale then any reputable workshop can do it.
(I'm telling you Shaun.. open a bloody southside store - you will make a killing!)
The Big yellow performance car shop just down from Big gun that do all the ricers is a top quality workshop - that have no issues playing with the LS1 either.. They are a pretty hardcore bunch of performance pro's in there.. and are more than capable of pulling an engine out and swapping gaskets etc.. you would be paying std (quality) hourly rates I would assume..
P.S. From experience I have found the B.S (thats brock shop..hehe) overwhelmingly overpriced.
Also Markone2 deals with a couple of workshops down this way.. that may or may not be of use..

Stop your rooting around and take it to PT. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Straight, no BS, honest, they know LS1s inside out, and top blokes into the bargain.

Yar, just take it to PT one day with your lady friend at some off peak traffic time. It would simply have to be worth the drive to get the job done right. If I still lived in North QLD, I would consider driving down from there!
