If I could get some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Driving to footy training last night overtaking a truck but didnt make it to fourth gear. Clutch went really hard and she wouldnt budge into any gear. So I pulled over got my mate to come suss it out and we ended up driving it home in second all the way. I dont know what he did but he starts the car in gear and even went from second to third without the clutch saying something about getting the revs right...?

He says definitely the slave cylinder. Now I have dealership warranty up in Frankston...and I'm in Albanvale. So good hour approx drive. Is it covered by dealership 3 years or 175,000ks Holden certified? And if I tell them I assume I would have to fix it with them. Or should I just go buy it and get my mate to install it. He has done it many times before.

Thanking you all.

you might have to read the fine print of the 175,000 km warranty... think you'll find that you have to get it fixed at the holden dealer you got your car from or you run the risk of voiding the warranty...

but up to you i guess... what holden doesn't know can't hurt them...

but don't holden fix it for nothing??

Thanks for the reply.

But wouldnt I have to tow it to Frankston? That'll cost a bit. Then I would have to organise to pick it up.

Would it be worth trying to get it fixed at say Kevin Dennis Sunshine and having Baycity Holden fix it up with them? I would think they'd say NO WAY!

Oppps no I didnt renew it....spewing now.

Cars at home but. I want to give them a call but dont want to make it out that I need it fixed because then like you said I will probably void the warranty.

I might give KD Sunshine a call and ask them first.

while your talking to KD Sunshine ask how much to fix it... if it's not much just take it to them and never mention it to holden... :yup:

Bloody babies wont do it. Oh well my fault for rushing and buying it from Frankston. The oart is $230inc gst so I'll just buy it and get my mate to put it in...

could appear to be the slave after the fact.

Have seen where the pressure plate colapses allowing the slave to travel too far out and drop its fluild. replace the slave and still have no pedal.

news flash...found about the n queue network or whatever its called. Because I am further then 50km out from the dealership radius, I am able to get Sunshine KD to assess it and send the quote to BayCity in Frankston. If they approve the quote, then it gets fixed at Sunshine...whhhiipppee.

And vt2vx, thats what the dealership man said. What I am concerned about now is the certified warranty covers me to a maximum of $1000 for any one repair. The pressure plate is a covered part under the warranty, but I can easily see it going over $1000 if changing the pressure plate and labour. How does this work? Is it $1000 labour coverage?

i think the current charge by holden out of warrantee is about $1200 for a clutch. not to far off a tex clutch

Yeah I have read many good reports about the tex clutch. But KD Sunshine has done a great job in looking after me. They assessed and sent the report to BayCity Holden which was then approved and will be claimed under the certified warranty....wwhhhiiippppeeee new clutch for me.

Thanks for all replies.

Well hopefully all is sweet. Got my baby back from KD, they changed the whole clutch kit so pressure plate, forks, slave cylinder and all the other bits and pieces, cost me $121 in the end had to pay for some sort of boot that was worn out. Cant complain when the job is worth $1200+.

Only thing I am not happy with now is its like I have to learn manual all over again. Slightest release of the clutch and she takes off. That and the fact that they left two nice chip marks on my front driver guard :flamin:
