Any suggestions for stopping the sludge build up inside the top of the tank.
I have seen other LS1's where you cant even see through the top.
Mine is'nt that bad, just a little build up in the corner.
It looks all sealed so any prevention methods?
Flush coolant more reg?

Yep. Buy a new one. Cheap as chips to replace when you replace your coolant.

If you have no luck cleaning it while insitu, try removing the tank and emptying it, then fill with some water and a bit of clean sand to create a thick muddy consistency.
Then give it a good shake and use the mud to help remove the sludgey buildup.
Make sure you thoroughly clean all of the sand and water out of the tank before reinstalling too..
Great for hard to reach places that you can't get access with a brush, rag or toothbrush etc...

I also have this problem. I think you just have to buy a new one and install with the next flush.
Mine is going a sort of yellow colour. Which I hate the look of. :bawl:
As above, it's a cheap fix and will make the engine bay look that little bit cleaner.

I've used nulons carby & throttle cleaner & this works really well with an old toothbrush. I haven't tried degreaser, but this may help to?
I also agree with the adding of the sand as it should do the trick. But as all others have said, buy new if concerned.
