Very Nice! I actually like the Statesman interior over the Caprice, probably because I like woodgrain!

Overall a nice effort but the rear seat cushion is seriously flawed. The bottom cushion looks very thin and badly integrated to the floor. Looks very HJ Statesman to me.

Just out of curiousity, what gave away the fact that it had auto wipers? was it the things on the front bumber that look like reversing sensors or are these something different again?
Cheers,

AUTO on the wiper stalk :) Now does that mean fully auto or speed sensitive?

Pretty sure I went past a new Statesman this afternoon. Was wearing Chev badges and had left hand drive stickers across the rear window. Looked either dark blue or black. Didn't get a chance to spot if it had quad exhausts though. Looked pretty good though. Didn't pick it as a Holden as I went past, only when I looked back.

Saw another WM Statesman today. This one was white and parked in the car park of the Red Rooster on Middlesborough Rd. Only got a quick glimpse on the way past, but it didnt have any covers on it. Looked the goods.

I saw one on Wier St in Balwyn. Didn't realise it was one because it was dark and I was delivering pizza, and the lights dazzeled me. They are extremely bright! Looked the goods though, I think it was a 6 though, didn't make much of a noise as it went past.

What are Oz_utester's pics of? Looks more like a Vectra to me. I thought VE's with only a single pipe had them on the right now..........???

Was in Melb for the week, and was driving with my mate yesterday and saw a New Maroon Statesman with Chev badges on it trying to get on to the West Gate. No piccies sorry. It was unmasked also.

Out of all the real life pics of the new models that Stato is the best so far, they are definately in need of the big wheels :yup:
When do you pick yours up Rob ;)

Waiting to see what HSV has to offer before saying anything but the stato with 20's is pretty impressive.
Can anyone photoshop it in white dropped??
or black for that matter...

Not my chop, from HotRod32 on Just Commodores. Was just about to post in Multimedia section. Note he has increased the flares and put in huge wheels, 4" exhaust and recolured the statesman lettering to red.

Have to second that :yup: Those discs look tiny. I saw a Calais V the other day turning onto Kings Way and I was a little disappointed, looked a bit frumpy, looks like a big mofo from side on. For those nubs comparing it to a falcon or 380, in real life there is definately no mistaking them for any other car on the road though.
There are three (Statesman, SS and VE) operating on test up here at Dinner Plain for a few days. Statesman and VE are LHD, with Arabic data plates under the bonnet, all are V6, although there are dual exhausts on the SS and Statesman. Exterior on the Stato is very muted, no chrome Statesman across the boot (black on black), and the rear rooflining looks a bit naff, as the sunroof has lowered the interior light cluster too far, IMHO.
My camera went TU a few weeks ago, so I'll have to try to borrow one. Last month we had 6 Falcon variants here for ten days on drivetrain testing, not a good time to be without a camera :(

I just spotted UAM-681 in Tenterfield, NSW with a caprice boot symbol (but missing the CAPRICE nameplate) in sandstorm metallic but talk about road presence - I thought it may have been a grange as it had 19" or 20" rims but by the time I turned around and was getting the camera out the guy sitting in it stared at me and pissed off rather quickly! The fender vent was in the statesman/caprice place, so i dont think it was a grange...
Is it strange that they are still driving mules around?
That was the first WM i have seen in the flesh

They could still be doing final engine/drivetrain callibrations for O/S, so picking places with similar environments, like air temps, humidity etc. etc. These cars then might be shipped as final evaluators and test vehicles for the overseas agents.
