Hi all,
Sorry if this has already been posted but I did some searching and didn't find what I was after. I'm in the market for either a VYII Calais LS1 with Leather or a VYII SS with Leather and Manual, however it is damn hard to find a Manual SS let alone one with leather and I'm thinking of caving on the Manual requirement. Obviously Calais doesn't come in Manual so I'm OK with that but I just felt that an Auto SS wasn't as "sporty", can you SS owners out there please let me know what your experience's have been.
Thanks :)

It has been done to death previously mate but the consensus seems to be Auto if you want to get serious about your quarter mile times or you do a lot of stop start heavey traffic driving. Everywhere else a Manual will enhance the driving experience!

I figured it had been but my searches obviously weren't for the right words because I just kept coming up with threads that had nothing to do with it, I'll try some more searches.
Thanks

Don't bother searching just buy a manual and get a ripshift.

I think A Mod needs to get rid of this, I've just realised how many times people have discussed this same topic, sorry guy's I'll be more efficient at searching next time.
Manual all the way mate :driving:

I have had my VX SS Series 2 A4 for ten months and let me tell you I am so bored of it, its not funny. I have learnt to drive manual and now I just think if my VX was manual how much more fun it would be to drive :burnout: . I am selling my VX due to it being a auto and I wish to get a Monaro M6 so it will be another world to me. I would say Manual all the way with a ripshift.

Not this again,
But while I'm here, Manual rules. I got rid of my VY SS A4 because of the lack of driving pleasure, heavy traffic, light traffic I still love it.
Dont settle on your second choice, hopefully an M6 will come up for you.
Good luck.

Should have swapped places.:D I just sold a rip shift M6 Monaro....and was a happy chappie indeed upon returning to the easy drive A4 SV8 with instant response at any speed...an 11 second A4 is a hard habit to kick...should try it sometime ;)

:p I wish I could and one day I wish to with a GenTT but it may be in a manual (Most likely wont even get 11's because I will take off like miss daisy or burn my clutch out :D )

Specially since more manual monaro's were produced, you'd think you'd find more manual ones for sale... apparently not :demon:

I love my manual except for the ocassional peak hour traffic clutch workout.
Only thing I have worked out is that you cannot eat maccas in a manual.
