Hi Guys,

Just had some little pr1ck try and badge the munro, they succeeded in getting half the badge and left a $hitload of screwdriver marks around the missing half. I suppose it's time I got off my ar$e and upgraded the alarm.

I did a search but don't seem to be able to find anything on which alarms offer the proximity warning. I remember standing next to a very nice '72 corvette once and was told very politely to "please move away from the vehicle" by the alarm system.

Does anybody know where I can get one of these. I have the Holden Assist satellite tracking option fitted, so the car is monitored 24/7. Will an upgrade cause problems with the tracking etc. What is a good quality alarm upgrade worth these days?

I can see that the Munro is going to be more of a target as time goes by, unfortunately I don't have enclosed "lock up" parking at the moment, but I might have to change that.

Thanks in advance guys ;)

Hi Mate,

They are called Dual Zone or Dual stage Microwave Sensors...

They false alarm continually, espically in the rain... After 7 years of trying, the conclusion is, they dont work, they annoy people, and this might lead to somthing more sinister...

I have seen them setup to work "alright"... the best thing to do, if you are going to, is have the pre warn trigger output connected to an internal pieze screamer....

Legend, thanks FST57L. The last thing I want to do is pi$$ off the neighbours, can't stand alarms that go off for no reason. What do you recommend? Are there any options to detect people touching the car? Can handle people stealing badges but not putting screwdriver marks all over the car in the process!!

Will probably have to stick with the usual intrusion/tilt upgrades, any particular brand that you find is the most reliable?

Thanks again mate :)
