Looking at trading the vx in on a YIIR8 (dealer) just wondering what sort of money for a YIIR8, prefer a manual.... but i guess if i have to ill take a auto.... wondering if anyone is in the know of any good deals around qld for one... reason being r8 is the brakes are far superior to the brakes i got on my clubby :) and basically time to upgrade i think before loose to much more money on current car...
if i get a manual ill take the ripshifter out... if its a auto.. ill leave it in obviously....

Mate depending on the amount of K's but your looking at around 35-36k for a VY2 R8..... Trade in on your car you would be looking at around 20-24k depending on K's and condition etc... Hope that helps so all up I recon around an extra 15k tops should do it with trade in of your clubbie...

Yeah that will have to be paid out first.. Then what ever you have left over will go towards the price of the new car and you will get a loan for the remaining amount :D Pretty sure how that’s done, never borrowed money for a car in the past so meh not too sure how it works.... just going from what friends have done in the past :D Can't you go under fringe benefits or something and get a leased car?

I know of a VYII Clubby in 100% original condition (no mods at all) that a guy is about to sell for $36k. Done 45000k's and is his wifes car so not been thrashed. Its auto, new tyres (under 3000ks on em) and the first time replaced so shows it doesnt get driven hard. PM me or see me in IRC (its a brisbane car)

Gatecrasher - VX 02 done 58,000 odd (still under 60ks) has a 222/224@112 with 0.590 lift on it (comp cam) has had heads ported/polished, forged pistions forged rods, strenthened crank fully balance and all that sorta shit... double row timign chain. Textralia clutch (needs to removed and realigned to remove harmonics) (can check with planb for this) Mafless tune 3" cat back and if your on msn send me a message, my msn addy is baldric@westnet.com.au withough the quotes obviously... and ill sling you some pics....

Hey Hammer i have had the same thoughts on getting a vy2 r8.There are a couple up around Brisbane with low k's for around the 45 mark they have been on the net for quite a while.(private sale)
I have since changed my mind and are looking at vz clubsports,i was thinking it would be nice to have leather and big brakes but i can always take the clubby brakes off and sell them to get some 4 piston harrops or similar.
I have driven a vz and was quite happy with it except for the severe tramlining wich i have read is due to the standard tyre it has.Unfortunatly i have not driven a vy r8 so i can only make comparisons between a vu ss and a vy ss and the clubsport.
Either way both cars will get be great but the vz will get my vote.
Good luck finding something though.

well, when he first started talking to us in mackay, it was a stroker, then it was something else with forgies built like a brick, then it was going to have a turbo on it with 30psi boost at 10.5:1 compression (his own words) then it was a 11 second car @ 128 mph etc without the turbo etc... (in which he came down telling me my car was crap and slow..and then he ran a 13.7 @ 106mph?)
