If you own a cv8r or cross 8 in Qld take to gavinx8. He has the perfect plates for sale.

Yeah the QLD guys have it bad - having to pay such a premium.

Well I reckon your plate LS1 could maybe fetch around the $1000 mark. It's a good plate, and doesn't have any numbers in it trying to represent a letter (eg.. a "5" trying to be an "S"). I've seen a lot sh!ittier plates trying to be sold for more than 1000 bucks... but as VX225 said, whether the seller actually gets their dreamed asking price is another story.

I'd contemplate buying your plate, except that for 1... I don't live in NSW, and 2... I don't own and LS1 (yet)! But if I did, I'd be thinking about it! So yeah advertise in the Trading Post mate, you can't go wrong. Good luck.

But its a One off fee, Dont you guys gotta pay every year ?

Nope. I paid approx $400 for my "MAD.HUH" number plates which was the 1 and only payment. Kept them on the car for 2 years and then sold the car without personalised plates. Have kept the plates in my draw at home for the last 2 years, and so will be putting them on my new car in December - at no further cost! Victoria has it the best for sure (except W.A. you can fit WAY more letters).

:yup: Between $400 and $620 per year dependant on the colour/type of plate.
These are Black on White.

its really hard to say what they are worth, at the end of the day, they are only worth what someone is wiling to pay.

I know a set of plates that were sold at some ridiculous figure, eg $200000. for a plate, ive had several offers for mine, and have considered all offers, ive still got the plates, thou.

Anyone in SA want plates.

Im thinking that the plates would be more valuable to someone who has put an Ls1 into something that ordinarily would not have a LS1 engine, therefore the plate would have significant relevance.

Just my opinion.

Hey yeah good point HSVREDSLED! But there ain't too many non-LS1 factory fitted cars driving around at the moment with an LS1 conversion. Most of the EFI converted 8's (Holden's that is) are the good 'ol 5.0ltr I guess simply due to the cheaper price.

I do agree, but i think the price would be reduced because of the supply and demand theory.

I used to know a guy here (butcher where I used to live) who has (had?) a 67 or 68 Camaro with the plates CAMARO on them. Even 15 years ago he had someone wanting to buy them from him for some ridiculous amount (in the thousands!).

PS Anyone here in Vic want SVEE8 or V8LS2 plates? :)

I got offered $7000 for my AGROV8 plates about 5 weeks ago. I said no at the time as they have a sentimental value(had em for 17 years) but a week later I told the guy Ill accept but hed bought others.....Im now glad I didnt sell as I think these distinguish MY car from others as I can buy the same wheels, tint, engine bits, paint etc etc as the next bloke but Im the only one who will EVER have these on my car...........Shaun

lowhsv

ive tried selling LOWHSV for a few different prices. when i bought the car they come on i done a google search "lowhsv" and came up with a number plate site which had the plates for sale (previous owner) for $5000 which came in handy cos then i found out some previous history on the vehicle when i called.
i doubt he had many calls tho.

i get unique cars every month and they have some ridculous prices on plates in there.... i think NASDAQ was one a while ago advertised for $250,000 or something, i spose you could hope the ceo of nasdaq bought unique cars magizine.....

LOWHSV for sale BEST OFFER

Well I did a fair bit of looking at what plates were advertised at and most were at $10,000 so i copied. But dont get me wrong I dont believe i will get anything like that for them. I would like to get near $5,000, I would take $3,000, if not i might have to keep them.

Well nick here's the feed back...
I have not had a single enquiry to the sale of the NSW plates(LS1), had them advertised at $3000 neg.(very neg.)
So my thoughts are that it is not worth trying to sell them just let them expire.:vpo:

Cars come with badges for a reason, maybe thats why no-one wants plates to say the same thing as the GENIII badges do anyway.

Some dude near Hurstville in Sydney has a VP 5ltr Ute with GENII number plates...... U never know someone may want them!!!
Oddballs.....
Also would love to buy a set of plates for the SS, but Paying $500 a year for the ESKORT number plates, on the wifes eskort is enough for me, and rego on the 2 cars is 1 week apart...
So needless to say, i hate the rta that month...
