Hey all,

Just a couple of quick notes for those of you following the progress of Robbie Bolger and his 900hp Monaro in the Toyo Drift Australia Series.

Round 3 of the series from Eastern Creek will be on TV this weekend. It'll be shown on Sunday on Speedweek (SBS) at 12 noon, and also shown next Wednesday night on Inside Speed (Fox Sports) at 8:30pm.

And in a little over a week, August 19-20 to be precise, the Monaro will be among the full field heading to Tasmania for the first time. Symmons Plains will host Tassie's first Drift Australia Round.

Robbie is currently second in the series, and has closed the gap in recent rounds coming off a win at Queensland and 2nd at Eastern Creek. With two rounds to go, he'll be looking to continue his charge towards P1.

Hi James2,

Just a quick note for your information, drifting battles are typically conducted over a short distance.

At Eastern Creek, the track was essentially the run from just after the Turn 9 Hairpin to the early part of the front straight. While the track was only three corners, it provided a lot of challenges to the drivers, particularly in linking them together.

Hope this helps.

Street_Tuna, yes Robbie and his crew do an excellent job with the presentation and performance of the Monaro. Some said an Australian V8 in drifting (which has been dominated by Japanese cars) wouldn't go well, but Robbie is proving them wrong.

Yeah look. I have never known much about drifting, and surely wouldnt have much knowledge of anything like an Aussie V8 in drifting.....so Im just glad to see it happen :)

There'll be another high-horsepower Holden in action this weekend, Johnny Udy will join Robbie and get behind the wheel of the returning Supercharged V8 1000hp Holden Ute.

One of my best friends won the comp this weekend in Tassie, Luke Fink! I've been riding bmx with Luke for years and years, and now he's kicking arse in drift. I'm proud of him!

Luke did an awesome job. First round in DA he goes out there and wins the thing - complete with a broken ankle, he was/is still on crutches after a stack in Queensland a couple of weeks ago.

Robbie Bolger was eighth in his Monaro, and while he drops some points to points leader Leighton Fine, he is still second and within striking range to grab the title at Oran Park on September 23-24.
