I got a mailout the other day from when I used to own my Torana for the Muscle Car Muster at Mallala. It is part of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series and is basically a couple of parade laps around the track, secure ('display') parking, and grandstand seats (with pit pass). The muster is on Sunday 17th September.
I took the Torana out as part of the Torana Street Machine Club of SA, but I dont think you need to be part of a club to enter...
It costs $35 per person and gets you:
-Entry ticket to the entire weekends racing (3days).
-A 'Muscle Car Park' (on the lawn adjacent to the track.
-Free grandstand seats in the Esses.
-Free entry to the pits.
-A two lap 'Muscle Car Parade' around the track.
The two laps really are just a 'PARADE' lap (quite strict on speed etc.), but it can be a good fun day out for the family (when I went out there was no limit on passengers etc..), and if your heading out to the race anyway the Sunday ticket package is normally $50!
I have emailed Mallala at mallala@curpatrick.com.au to find out if the SS is eligible without club membership, but am yet to get a reply.
Tickets must be pre-paid and the cut off is 8th September. If anyone wants a copy of the entry form I can fax it through, otherwise you can find it on www.mallala.com.
If anyone else is keen maybe we could make an appearance on behalf of the forum (with a validated member or two of course.. and maybe get me validated ;) ;)). :yup:
Cheers, Stu.
