Got a flat over the weekend and took it down to the local tyre shop. Can't be repaired as puncture is right near sidewall. Couple of questions:-

1/ What is a decent price for a Yokahama Advan Sport (235/35 19 or whatever spec an 06 HSV is). Never bought one of these before.

2/ I paid for a 'full size spare' from my Holden dealer rather than a space saver. While the rim is the 'full spec' VY GTS design the dealer pointed out that the spare has Falken rubber on it (cheap sh*t in his own words). Wouldn't it be reasonable to expect that a full size spare has the same rubber as the other 4 tyres on the car ?

cheers
David

I think the Yokohama's are Directional tyres, which means if you had one of those on the spare you could only put it down one side of the car.

(this goes for any directional tyres on a car)

The yokohamas are a asymmetrical pattern which means that they have a outside and a inside of the tyre which means you cannot turn the tyre on the rim but you can bolt it on to either side without a problem ant tyres an more shop in sydney should be able to give you the best price.
