Hi all,
My rellies dropped by to show me their recent holiday pics from Europe. They had a pic of a servo price board:
Petrol cost: 1.50 Euros
Diesel cost: 1.00 Euro
Of course diesel should be cheaper! It requires LESS refining!!
So how do they justify the rip-off cost of diesel in Australia?
And if Aussie drivers are being stitched up on the price of diesel, why isn’t it reasonable to conclude that we’re being ripped off on the price of petrol too?
I saw a documentary on bio-diesel a couple of days ago. This fuel is being produced commercially in Australia but they have no distribution facilities / network. Maybe they ought to set up their own servo’s on all major highways leading out of the big cities so the long-haul truckies can at least fill their tanks at a more reasonable price??
I’m glad to see that Mr Howard has introduced the $2000 LPG conversion rebate. It looks like one way to pull the Big Oil Co.’s into line at least to some extent. If they continue to gouge Australian motorists, more of us will switch to gas, leaving them sitting on a sea of unwanted petrol - and wouldn’t that be true justice for the $ hungry B’s?
