Replacement dash glass/plastic

Hi All,

Aplogies if it's covered on the forum somewhere, I've done a few searches but nothing has shown up.

A few weeks back I was cleaning the car and accidently grabbed the rag I used for the leather cleaner and wiped it across the dash glass/plastic. Now there are some white streaks across it which won't go away, even after using general cleaner, turps, metho, glass cleaner, etc. So my questions are;

a) Does anyone have any idas on how it can be removed?
b) If not, where's the best place to get a replacement glass cover?

A mild degreaser on a cloth will get it off. You can also use a glass polish if its scratched. Metho/turps may have melted the plastic though.

Most ultra mild paint cutters/cleaners will work, meguairs scratch x is for paint but works on glass and plastic, just dont use coarse cutters.

Try using PLASTX a Meguiars product for cleaning / polishing clear plastic

As stated, you can get plastic type cleaners. Also if theres scratches and stuff on the plastic, you can 'buff it out' by hand using a fine compound, then use some of the plastic stuff to make it come up real shiny :)

Another secret for plastic.... toothpaste. Works very well depending on the problem.

you can buy the replacement cluster glass (plastic) for about 20 buks from holden (for vt to vx style dash anyways. not sure about vy style)

sorry to butt in but my dash cluster plastic bit has armour all on it cant get rid of the crap so considering replacing it ( vx ss ) is it difficult to take out?
