Ay guys
how many k's u guys get outta a tank of full petrol in a series 2 VY SS ute?? The first bar i had use to drop to the next bar until i took it to united holden and they said there were some software problems, so they updated that, not as bad now, but at times i could be getting as little as 220k's outta 1 full tank, sometimes 280 if im lucky. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried driving for a full tank with gear changing at about 2k everytime, but its still the same problem...

have had my gauge calibrated twice and still some weeks can be all over the place and 50bucks a go is a rort. basically keep an eye on how many litres you put in your ute when you fuel up and a rough estimate you should get easy over 400kms provided your not full throttle everywhere.
It sounds like your breather hose for the fuel tank is kinked. How many liters does it take before it stops filling? If it's ok you should be able to drizzle in at least another 10 liters after the pumps stops feeding fuel. The original calibration in my VZ would only show full if I slowly added the last 10 to fill it to the brim. The next calibration showed it full at the first refusal of the pump, but that is still about 13 liters shy from being full to the brim.
If a car ever needed a bigger fuel tank these V8 Utes are the ones. Well maybe not as much as a 308 LH torana. :driving: :burnout:

I regularly get 450km's out of a tank, 60% city 40% highway. Use vortex Gold 95 and have had a chipmaster edit. On a recent trip to Canberra I got 610km's to 63 litres.

I have a bog stock VYII SS 6M ute. Around town I just put 45L in after travelling 285km. It was showing right on 1/4 on the gauge. Computer said 16.8L/100km. I don't flog the car but I don't baby it either.

I checked the tank capacity on my VY ute and it says 70L off the top of my head.. then in theory each full tank should cost me round about $100 give or take at the current petrol price.. is that how it works? When it starts saying empty.. i put in a full tank.. at the first click its usually about $70 ...
When i had mine, i was getting a bit under 300kms per tank. That was driving into the city everymorning and evening though. Im sure with less peak hour driving i would get much better figures.
