Story today in smh that speed camera fines issued since 1999 could be overtuned.
From the story:
He found that to be given weight as evidence the digital cameras that took the photos had to be calibrated every day. The authority calibrated its cameras once a year, Mr Miralis said.
He said every person convicted on such evidence since 1999 - when digital cameras came in - had been improperly convicted.
"The biggest problem the RTA face is how they're going to run these prosecutions in the future," Mr Miralis said.

Note that article applies to fixed cameras. Mobile ones are supposed to be calibrated every time they're set up or every day. Can't remember exactly where I read it, but on this site http://www.policespeedcameras.info/ .
So it may not apply to your situation BLACK1 :(

Geeze that would be good if it applies to Victoria too. (although it will probably bankrupt the state and Brackie's government  with all the refunds)

Said on the news last night that the RTA said this would NOT set a precedent as it was a one off case. I dont know the details, but I wouldn't go getting your hopes up. I'm sure they'll find a way to still make us pay!

Plenty of concern in NSW about validity of Fixed Camera Image validity.
Awaiting full written judgement from Court

I read about the ruling online. The government will simply re write the law, make it retrospective, so the judgment wont mean anything anyway and no one will get any money back. Its SIMPLE for them to fix.

Isn't paying the fine an admission of guilt?

Nah paying the fine just stops you from going to court or jail :D

Going to court is a bit of a drag but I think it's worth while if you think you've got a good chance of beating the wrap.
I went to court over my last ticket (illegal no right turn). The judge dismissed the charge under Section 10.
This guy who beat his fixed camera charge proves the point that people can beat these scumbag systems (90 km/h in the M5 Tunnel during peak hour traffic gridlock? HA!

Dead right, Lease 1.
There is no way the NSW Govt will hand back any $$$$.
That is just not policy! Besides, drivers are second rate citizens here...
