Hey Guys,
Anyone on here had aftermarket rain sensing wiper fitted to their car?
Was looking at one the other night and thinking about it. Would appreciate any feedback.

Why bother?
When screen looks wet - turn wipers on?
Save your money for something else

I couldn't agree with you anymore, how pointless and a waste of money that is. :sux:

Gentlemen Gentlemen Please. Don't worry, I know what you mean :) But it's small things like this that seem to differentiate the top of the line models. So as wanky as it may seem, people seem quite willing to shell out the big $$ for a car with this stuff on it. I'm more intrigued than anything, I didn't know it could be done aftermarket, but then found it on the net looking for something else.
It's like the electro-chromatic rear viem mirror, or the dipping side mirror, or the tyre pressure monitor and probably a host of other things.

A built in arse scratcher in the drivers seat would be great. ;)

Yeah good point too! In NSW and in a drought! But there must obviously be a market otherwise these guys wouldn't be advertising. My girlfriends Merc has them, but they spend most of the time turned off, because when in auto mode, every time you start the car, they wipe the windscreen to make sure there is no water there to start with. As I said, I was more intrigued than anything!

I bought an 1984 Suzuki Carry Van over the weekend - as a runaround.
Has this feature which is right up there with rain sensitive wipers...
With the light switch - which is a pull knob - once for sidelights and again for low beam - theres a great feature when the switch is off. If you TURN the knob - all the side lights come on EXCEPT the number plate light. How useful is that!!!!!!!!:woohoo:
It's what I call stealth mode and must be designed to save few battery cells if used as a parking option. All this on an 1984 van with a 0.8L (not 5.8L) engine.
My nominations for most unnecessary accessories are...
1) My Suzuki parking light "stealth mode"'
2) Rain sensing wipers
