I went to the local Holden dealer to look at the new VE on the weekend just passed. Also managed to obtain a brochure. I looked at the brochure and found that in the specification section that there are no kerb weights listed for any of the VE models. I also notice that this information is also missing from Holden's website - click here (http://www.holden.com.au/www-holden/action/techdata?modelid=4000)
Does anybody know where to find this information?

It has been covered on this Forum under the VE General Thread but it could take days to find it...
From the September Motor mag the VE SSV is stated at 1690kg, 6.25kg/kW. I would assume the SS will be slightly less ....

Why doesn't any of the Holden literature contain this information?

Hope this helps......... the figures are from the Redbook site.
I couldn't find them anywhere so I painstakingly compiled this list from their spec data. Who knows if it is right?
These are 'Tare Mass' figures:
Omega 1622kg (Wheels mag = 1690kg)
Berlina V6 1641kg (Wheels mag = 1705kg)
Berlina V8 1711kg
SV6 M6 1662kg
SV6 A5 1684kg (Wheels mag = 1724kg)
SS M6 1707kg (Wheels mag = 1770kg)
SS A6 1718kg
SS-V M6 1731kg
SS-V A6 1741kg (Wheels mag = 1803kg)
Calais V6 1682kg (Wheels mag = 1750kg)
Calais V8 1738kg
Calais-V V6 1707kg
Calais-V V8 1763kg (Wheels mag = 1821kg)
Statesman V6 1786kg
Statesman V8 1844kg
Caprice V6 1786kg
Caprice V8 1878kg
HSV Clubsport R8 M6 1760kg
HSV Clubsport R8 A6 1777kg
HSV GTS M6 1777kg
HSV GTS A6 1794kg
HSV Senator A6 1792kg
I guess 'Tare Mass' + 60-70kg = kerb weight

Hello fatso. Holden must be a little embarrassed after giving Ford a hard time about the tubby BA. Interesting to note that the auto is lighter than the manual.
Oops can't read properly. The manual is lighter. Sorry about that.

And thats what surprised me most about it.
Omega around 0-100 in 8.1 seconds which is just as quick as the VN V6 Commode.
Now the SS 0-100 5.4 ish seconds and 13. something 1/4mile.
Plus the fuel consumpsion is slightly effected over the VZ.
