VU Series 2 SS manufactuer date?

Does anyone know in what month the first VUII SS were manufactured in 2001? I have noticed an advert for a VUII SS... no log books, June 2001 on the engine plate, didn't think VUII came out until late 2001.

got mine in the first week of oct 01. had to wait 4 weeks for it. june seems far to early to be a series II.

Pretty sure they came out in August of 2001 - according to redbook.

I think the intake air temp sensor on the series 'I' was into the air box itself. On the series 'II' it was moved to just behind the MAF. (I think)

If he's trying to sell a series I as II, he might of missed that. There are probably other things that might give it away...

My VU ss is june date but a serise 1

Mine is a series II, build plate says SEP01. Dont think it was delivered till later tho as there was a wait on delft blue i believe (im second owner)

does anyone know of any other major differences beween the series 1 and 2? ... that would swing me toward buying the series 2?

dont know about the utes but the VXII sedans got control link IRS, stronger B pillar, new cruise control stick, new dark grey interior (instead of light grey)

i think i got a june/july 02 series II in deft blue
I havent really noticed that many around.
Did they make more in 2001 as 2002 the Vy's came out or something.
Have i got one of the last ones made in the Vu Series??
Just wondered.....

Yea i would get a log of all the changes that were made from the series I and series II and do a check on it to be 100% sure.
