Hey there.
Strange feeling last night.....
Had my VX SS on the market for about 5 weeks - finally last night someone came, checked it out, and placed a deposit on it, he will pick it up next week - i got $20k for it.

In a way Im happy to be selling it, but in another way, very sad to see it go. ive had it since brand new, modded it the way i wanted it, and used it as a wedding car for my wedding - its like you have lost someone close to you! Last night i was having second thoughts - my heart was telling me to keep it, but my head was saying sell it.
Have you guys had the same feeling when you finally let go of your car?
Do you think $20k is a good price?
Ill still be looking at this site anyway, thanks for all the advice.

I sold 5 cars last year, for me its just one more headache and expense gone, I'm only attached to one of my cars.

Sounds like you are starting to grieve. Remember why it is that you decided to sell the car in the first place. It must have been for a good reason.

$20K is an excellent price for a VX SS with cloth seats
Wave it goodbye and move on because now that VE is out, the prices on VX's are going south fast.

I just traded my Monaro in on an SS-V and boy, what a heart breaking moment.. my dream car, the car I had to have, the car I wanted, the car I needed and of course - going through all that pain of the Minster of Finance approving it!
But the time has come to say goodbye to the old girl and get one of those new flash looking jobs!

I Sold my Black VX SS M6 3 years ago for $23 after 4month on the market. So I think $20k on a 4-5 year commodore is not bad

Mate well done :) for that price I would be happy to see it go hehe. Mate just bought a VY SS's for 21k, nice clean white one with 76000 on the clock....
So what ya getting now?

Well, I work at Ford in Broadmeadows, so the company car i got was a Ford Focus - all paid for except petrol, so no point in keeping SS.
All the money i save from now on will hopefully go towards a new Typhoon next year, and with the discount ill get on it, plus, i can put it on a novated lease plan, will be very good!

It's a weird feeling, my first car I didn't care about so much as it was just transport to me but my 2nd car I'd done heaps of different things to and made it unique, sold it recently to get my clubby and even though by selling it I was able to step into a much nicer and newer car I was still a bit sad to see it go, I'm glad though it wen't to a young kid for his first car, I think he'll look after it and enjoy all the mod's I made over the years. Us humans are funny creatures, at the end of the day its just a hunk of metal/rubber/plastic etc yet we manage to get emotionally attached
