I'm looking for a Monaro bonnet for my VX Berlina.
The bonnet kit part number is 92181117 as far as I know after browsing the forums here and asking a few questions.
Along the way, I've seen a lot of different prices for them too. They vary by a lot, not just a few dollars. From $895 to $1495, Big difference!!!
Anybody that knows of good prices, could you please let me know.
Any dealers that want to sell one at a good price, please email me at
prw100@tpg.com.au.

Thanks
Peter

Have you seen the Custom Bodyworks fibreglass aftermarket bonnets? Look awesome, i have one on my VZ but they told me they have them for anything from VT onwards.. Just a thought :)

Age old Question: Are fibreglass bonnets legal?

They tend to appear cheaper when Holden clear some stock to dealers at a cheaper price. Around $1250 is pretty normal at the moment.

What state are you in, I know of a genuine bonnet in a panel shop here in Melbourne that came of a Monaro it has very minor damage but the owner insisted on a new bonnet, the owner of the shop won't just sell the bonnet as such as he would like to do the paint job as well, he also has the front Monaro bar. Probably half the price of a new one or less.
My son bought a brand new one and the panel shop said pity you didn't see me first as I have one here in the workshop.

Thanks, But I live at Western QLD, bit too far away to come for a paint job.
My car is at the panelshop after an altercation with a roo the other night. It's an insurance job and I have to pay the difference in the bonnet prices.

I don't want a glass bonnet, just a genuine one.

Your location will restrict the discount pricing, with freight and all, but good luck for a cheap one anyway.

Try your closest Holden Dealers or E-Bay. I got mine off E-Bay through Lansvale Holden who were advertising the bonnets for $900. They may still have some. I have no idea what shipping would cost.

good luck

$600.. sounds like a bargain
according to him it should bolt straight onto my vy series 2 ute?

anyone know the rough cost of respraying a bonnet ?

i know this is a really stupid question.. but why is it so much cheaper besides it being a replica? or is that the main reason

Yes it should bolt staight on, but its fibreglass not metal.

There is a lot more work modifying the factory Monaro bonnet to fit Vy & VZ, hence the price differences.

I had a to explain this to a panel shop yesterday who was going to try to fit the factory Monaro bonnet kit to mine ,
they DONT FIT (vy-vz) without modification.

ps. after the thread mining I hope Sandman got his ok.

correct me if im wrong.. but fibreglass = lighter than metal = weight reduction = increased acceleration?! LOLLL :bounce:
