Does anyone know if there will ever be another SS Wagon? Those things looked hot.

Given as how they wont make a VE wagon until late 2007 (or thereabouts) I reckon they may release an updated VZ II wagon/crewman/utenext year as a limited run/stop gap car until the newie lobs.

They seemed to have no trouble selling what they made in the VY I and II series - 2 runs of 200 I think.

They do make a good looking wagon - bit heavier than sedans though.

Perfect car for the mrs to drive IMO. Either that or a edited Territory T make great shopping trolleys!

I would love a HSV wagon personally with the usual LS2 , gun brakes, sorted suspension and performance rubber.

Where are those photoshop gurus who can make these things 'come to life' !!?

They made 500 series 1, and 350 series 2, and they had a lot of problems moving them in the end, hence the reduced run for series II.

Yep, they look great, but I'm biased :)

There were 500 made in Series I with only Red and Black being available. Series II were only available in Silver and Black with only 350 being produced. I believe that in Series II the highest proportion of vehicles were manual with more black vehicles built than silver.

At the time series I was released I was told that it was a limited run and they would not be doing them again and I was not in a position to buy. Luckily, series II was released and was in a position to buy. This is now the wife's shopping trolley and goes really well with an edit. Who knows if they will build them again ... never say never I reckon.

I reckon there is a very good chance of an SS spec wagon in a few years, as Holden has shifted it's focus to the sports wagon (ie European sports estate) style of family haulers.

A 270Kw sports wagon is a good chance of happening, just not called SS.

They had massive trouble shifting the black series II, I bought mine 2 months after the VZ's were on sale (had a choice of 4 on car lots around my area) and got a significant discount off new. I asked at the time if there was to be a VZ SS wagon and was told no, if that was the type of vehicle you wanted you would be shown a Berlina wagon and the HBD parts list

When i was searching for a wagon, all the dealers told me that V8 wagons have been canned all together, i.e VY being the last series to bring them out......i almost bought a red VY SS WGN but it sold a couple of days before got around to deciding, couldn't make up my mind........i love wagons and would definalty consider getting new one down the track if the design appealed to me......

I own one of the Red Manual wagons made and its a demon. Official numbers from Holden are:
Year SS Manual SS Automatic
2003 155 322
2004 186 154
2005 23 6

There are no official statistics recorded for which ones above were red, black or Silver but definitely the red ones were 2003 only. If you own a Red manual you own something that is very rare! They should have definitely rolled of the production line with an LS1 edit.....
