Firstly, you have to ensure that the ecu is programmed for the same tranny as your car has.
Disconnect -ve lead from battery;
remove airbox and radiator overflow tank (they just pull free from their rubber mounts);
remove heat shield from b/w ecu cradle and headers/engine (it pulls straight up);
remove lid from the top of ecu cradle;
unscrew ecu to wiring loom plugs using 10mm (I think) socket;
remove ecu to wiring loom plugs;
remove ecu - you will need a screwdriver to push a retaining tang out of the way and take your time - if it doesn't come out, then you probably haven't disengaged the tang sufficiently;
Reverse procedure for installation.
In saying all of this, I would be wary of just placing a 285kw ecu into the car, as the HSV tunes run can run too much advance at times and if you aren't using 98 RON fuel at least, you MAY experience pinging and resultant timing retardation.
At the minimum, you should get the tune all checked out on a dyno run from a sponsor, which may cost around $50-100.
Personally, I'd go for a mail order tune froma reputable tuner as a minimum.
Good luck with it all,
Macca

It probably wont be happy - it wont be matched the bcm and will likely be immobilized when you go to start it.
What macca said is true. Its not that good a tune anyway - really not that different to what you already have.
