A bit of guidance wanted:
The VS daily driver's auto is playing up (i think). When coasting along at 100km/h take foot off accelerator, and then very gently put it back on, the revs flare about 300-400 revs over normal (2000rpm). It can take up to maybe 3-4 secs before it settles again. Much worse when going up hill, but I would expect a stall converter to work a bit harder then anyway (right?).
It doesn't seem like the converter is locking up or something?? I used to have a manual 'paddock basher' mini with a slipping clutch - when it hooked up it had the same feeling as the VS does (tragic I know).
Gearbox had a service less than 1000kms ago. It was playing up before that, and hasn't improved.
Car has about 120000km on it.
I don't know much about autos, but is all this normal? The problem has been exacerbated by the fact the I have a "fully sic" hole in the muffler:rolleyes: , and therefore hear it more.
Any similar experiences/suggestions would be appreciated. Prefer to know the possibilities, as I don't want to get ripped off by a dodgy auto mechanic.
Cheers
Pete
