Hey guys I'm needing some clarification.

I'm trying to sell some colson foams, they are under my bed still in their original wrapping. I bought them from a mob in Melbourne & I'm in Townsville. So it's not a commercial sale nor is it for profit.

So why the hell am I getting deleted thread PM's telling me I'm not allowed to post brand new items for sale:vpo:

Well that explains it, I did read the Classifieds Rules but not the FAQ.

Second Hand goods are defined as goods that have been used for a period of time. Goods in original packaging or "As New" are not permitted.

Why is this^^?

Essentially it's to protect the sponsors and stop people from abusing the system.
Unfortunately it's a blanket, no exception rule.

RATE: Well then why do alot of people post items that were "never removed from box". Which would still be considered new as per LRL82's post...

Seems abit hypocritical to me...

Eg of such posts currently in general automotive classifieds thread:

http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=61012&highlight=still+in+box
http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=60886&highlight=still+in+box
the second thread title even states it is new...

Not hypocritical, just means that they were accidentally missed.
Feel free to click the Report Bad Post button if you see any get through and we'll deal with them.

Ok i saw that the moderator JonBonDSS "reworded" his add so it didn't violate the rules. Why does the mod get a chance to reword his add but a non mod doesn't? Is this what we are going to have to do to get around this? Its not like business's are posting 100's of items in the classifieds section that would affect sponsors sales figures. Posting new products in the classifieds section seems like a good way to get a bargain for a fair bit off the RRP to me...

my two cents.

I reworded Jbond's add because there had already been interest and our sponsor who sell these wheels had also participated and assisted in the thread.
Yes, businesses do constantly attempt to post up adverts in the section, but 99.9% are stopped at the moderation level before they become visible.
Them's the rules the forum owner wants ... we're just here to enforce them

Hi TUNDV8,
If there's threads in the classifieds that don't then please use the 'Report Bad Post' button to let us know. We will investigate it as we do for all reported posts.
We have had quite a lot of people signing up to abuse the classifieds and other instances of non-sponsor businesses advertising their products in the section.
Cheers,
Brad
