He has good feedback, so it looks genuine.
Price is very low though. Either it's NQR, or he needs some urgent cash....

Can't find it now, but yesterday I saw a VY HSV clubby, blue and had a blower 5.7l for $10,500 on ebay with I think 305 rwkws.

An obvious scam! Funny that I cannot find it today and I am sure I put it into my watch list so must have been removed.

There is a thread on here about it somewhere and would be interesting to follow it up and see what happened. I am about to use the search now and dig it up and have another read on it's outcome if any.

I got a reply on the $10.5 Clubby and posted it up , but now the thread is Gone.

A scam

Generally the e-bay scammers do not offer inspection of the car by appointment like this Monaro owner has.
The ebay scam threads go bye bye because we are sick of them being posted up here over and over again with titles like "$9K for a VZ Monaro? - Can it be true?". Enough already.
Anyone who gets conned by one of the ebay vehicle scams deserves whatever they get for being such a dumbass

Or any other scam for that matter, not just ebay...
I recently received an offer from that share market parasite David Tweed for my Coles Myer shares, at half their price. If something seems a bit sus, no matter what it is, there is half a chance it is!

Not that many k's considering year. Only 25klms a year. Average k's for someone up here.

MIKEVYII - Be interested in hearing how you go. Would be a good buy if genuine (which it sounds like it is).

Yeah I suppose so. I'm just use to only driving 10,000 - 15,000 a year.

I'd say he is just trying to sell it for a bit more than he got offered trade. Looks pretty clean, What would they trade in at these days?

At least he is not dreaming and has put a realistic price on it. But as the old saying goes put a cheap price on something and buyers are usually scrared off thinking something is wrong . . as soon as you bump up the price a bit you usually get a few bites...

Could be someone just finishing up his lease and only needs enough to cover his buy out price. For the 10 people that say it looks suss, there'll only be one person saying "I bought a bargain". :)

Cheers,
Steve.

Red Book says its worth a minimum of $29000 for 70,000klms in a private sale. So if its in good nic its worth at least about $27,500. Maybe a rollover or something like that. Still, if you want a quick sale then this is the way to go.
So muych for Monaros keeping their value now that they are discontinued.
My 04 has 71,000 klms on it so I'm a bit scared to contemplate selling it. Paid $50,000 for it in Nov 04 with 2,000klms on it. I reckon I'd get about $38,000 in a private sale and about $33,000 trade if I was lucky - and its perfect throughout.
Think I'll buy a BMW again next time - they hold their value.

If you are worried about your money holding its value then I would steer clear form cars all together. I would rather buy and drive something I like rather than something that will hold its value.

If I did the later than I would drive a toyota corolla which seem be to be flavour of the month......

Exactly.

If a car is useful in someway like a ute, station wagon, small 4 cyl runabout etc then it will hold it's value slightly better but in the end you will still lose money.

I read that BMW's hold their value !.......look at what a 2002 7 series fetches
these days.

A recent BMW is a lot harder to find private s/h than a Monaro which works in sellers favour, and it's fair to say Holden V8 tradein dived with $1.50/litre petrol. Cost per km including finance to buy would be heavily in the Monaro's favour.

The Monaro looks pretty good on paper compared to the 330, considering it would outperform it, carry people in much more comfort and probably get better economy.

Carnet auctions have a Blue 2002 Monaro with the supercharged V6 (116,000 klms) for $26k.

Percentage wise that's true but the Beamer owner is taking approx a $70,000 - $80,000 hit compared to $15,000 - $20,000 approx for the Munro owner. Ouch - that's gotta hurt!! :bawl: That's over $100 PER DAY depreciation on the Beamer..........

OK - I stand corrected on resale comparison with a BMW. My experience was with a 3 Series sedan - 318 - which I traded on a Mini Cooper S and got a great trade-in. Your right about the Monaro outprforming the BMW 330. Since I made that post I have decided to keep the Monaro and buy the misses a small 4 door sedan (she is pregnant with kid no2 - hence the thoughts about selling the Monaro) and since I decided to keep it I feel much better!:yup:

You for real? BMWs and other european vehicles haemmorage value even more than holden and fords do. a 200k$ beemer is usually only worth quarter of that 6 yrs later. You can buy them pretty cheap even 5 and 7 series , but the rub is the services and part cost will kill ya:confused:
