Hi guys and gals,
Took my car to this mob for some repairs the other day and got it back with damage to interior and huge grease marks on the roof lining.
Went back to resolve the issues and they claim its 'wear and tear'!
Be weary of these people!!!

Don't take that from them, take photo's and demand it be rectified.
What did they damage??

Yep, i used to go there to get my VT2 serviced.
Took it back 5 times in 2 months because it was backfiring on gas and they couldnt be bothered having a real look at it.
Now I go to a mate who works at ultra tune hawthorn!

Same thing happened to me but at Holden/HSV in Burnley.
I went back, they took one look at the marks and they cleaned it... they were very apologetic and sorted it out whilst I waited.

I purchased my thunder from Preston Motors in the city and they couldn't have been more helpfull... Which is usually the case when they want your cash!
But when it comes to servicing and warranty work they don't want to know you and don't give a shit. I had a bad experience at the first 3000km service when I had a few warranty issues that "couldn't be done that day" which they knew about a week prior. And to top it off, I got my car back with a couple of nice scratches across the bonnet and a few more up the rear roof moulds and a 1/4 tank less juice just to top it off!
Unfortunately for me I have to go back there to get a few minor warranty jobs fixed up!

I had issues with them when I had purchased my VT SS. I made numerous visits to get things fixed and no luck. Even called Holden and got told they were franchised and Holden has no real influence. Holden recommended I go elsewhere and I did. I would never deal with South City/Preston Motors again. I started a thread a while ago about Holden dealers and pretty much got bad feedback from them...
I thought you could get your warranty issues sorted out at another dealer....

Ive seen mechanics take customer cars for 'test rides' with a mate in the passenger seat whilst hooning around and mistreating someone elses pride and joy!!!
p.s. - to be fair, sometimes they use seat protectors so the seats stay clean.

This is strange. I had drama's with the local dealer (scraped front bar) and all I had to do was fill in the little survery they give you after each service. This goes directly to Holden in Melbourne and not the dealer. Worked a treat. The service manager rang my old boy once (after he gave the survey what is deserved) saying that they had received a call from Melbourne and how unfair it was. So the old man served it up again over the phone. Since then, he has never had a problem. I did the same and am almost treated like royalty. The service changed soo much.
I say Holden do influence.....

Yeah I do. I have some paint issues on the rear roof mould, a shit load of fine white dots up the edges (On black paint looks shite). The last dealer I went to didn't want a bar of it and said I needed to take it back to Preston motors to get it fixed up. Rekoned it was probably done when they polished the car before delivery. Same goes with the leaky rear cover that the service dude rekons are put on at the dealer prior to delivery. Despite me telling the guy they're a factory fit out they still didn't want to touch it!
Both problems are noted at Preston motors so I'll just go back and get these 2 issues sorted and thats it. I can't be farked arguing with dickhead serviceman that don't know what they're talking about and think you came down in the last shower!
There's nothing worse than someone trying to tell you something you know is not true... The guy believed his own bullshit. He stated "60L tank in the utes (Car manual clearly states 70L)... thats why you can never fit any more than 55L in it... 5 litres for backup"
Anyway I'll get off now :soap:
It's so frustrating!

They employ monkeys to work on cars and baboons to try and flog them off the showroom!!!
I was going to say they only pay them banana's but they are too costly these days:bravo:

Oh so many stories like this.... I had a wheel fitting mob in town refit my clubby rims and take the aftermarket off (obviously), had a mate ring me and asked me if I had fun leaving a bottleshop on the other side of town and smoking it up down the road- I was like nah mate not me I'm at work he was sure it was my car. So I went to the wheel mob as their only accross the road from work and waited. the boss shat himself and so did the fitter when he arrived with a very hot engine and the smell of burning rubber lingering.... consequently I no longer go there nor does work who were a $20k+ a year account....

Preston have offered to clean grease marks but not fix the other things -they say the damage THEY caused is 'wear and tear'!

Scratching seats is just not on. They need to replace the scratched section. Just keep hassling them until they give in.

Write a letter to the Big boss of Preston motors and CC it to the Service manager as well. At the least they cant say they didnt know about the problem.
Request that you require a response with in 7 days.
Then keep hounding them with Letter after Letter every 7 days until you get it sorted.....
I know it is a total pain in the ass but at least its on paper then.
Zane
I work close to the one in the city and you always see them test driving serviced cars around the block, and trust me it looks more like stunt driving than testing.

Tell them you will go to ACA and Today Tonight to ensure they never do it to any other person's car and to show them up on how bad they and holden are....see if you can send a copy of that letter to holden as well.
Worth a try if nothing else works
