I've got the same redback system on my SV8 but went the opposite direction of keeping the mufflers but removing the resonator.
Doesn't drone and produces a nice sound. Some think its too loud but the boys in blue haven't taken issue with it as yet.

unless im mistaken he said hes got a VX S
hence a v6 (unless it was a typo n its really an SS)
what sounds good on the v8 might not on the 6... but i guess its worth a shot

With the 6's I usually get rid of the rear resonator, makes more noise and is deeper and all that, but too me 6cyl always sound shit and the louder you make them the more you highlight the fact.
The off the shelf systems are the best IMO as there not over the top. Unless you have chopped springs, fluffy dice, neon lights and want a matching exhaust for your local hero hangout (Maccas, KFC, CHapel street etc) keep what you have its the best compromise.
Also I noticed you say you just got it, if you give it 2 to 3 months it will get louder and deeper it self

Spot on Nutter, wait till you have put 3000klms on it, I have just past this mark and could not be happier with how deep the note has gone compaired to when i first got it. Also, using mild steel on the tail pipes makes a deeper sound.
