Blue Rooster

Hi guys I'm new here - I've got a '04 VZ Tonner which I've had headers, 2-1/2 inch twin system and Big mouth cold air box fitted to. I use the Blue Rooster for work but as I'm sure you can all relate, I'm startin to itch for "just a little bit more poke".
What I really want to know is how the LS1 in my tonner (And the SS crewman) rated at 235 kw (flywheel) is different to those in the SS ans SS utes. I'm in perth and one of the blokes down at my dealer reckons its mainly in the engine edit and partly in the factory ehhaust.
Anyone know what the deal is? I just looked at the Chipmaster website and they are advertising packages for Tonners/Crewman so I might talk to them but I thought someone might have the info out there.
Cheers.

Your post will annoy the forum vetrans(old farts:shiner:) , do a search before asking questions. :)
BTW All VZ ls1's motors are the same save for exhaust tune and intake design
As for more poke give a sponsor a call about a tune/edit, diff gears and maybe a otrcai.
Hint: Search these terms (tune/edit, diff gears otrcai)

Thanks, like I said I'm new so I appreciate the heads up.
Have been searching for this info but got fed up after no luck.
Thanks again

Pretty sure the difference between the 235 kw and the 250 kw ratings are due to the single 2.25inch straw (tonners and crewies) versus the twin 2.25 inch pipes on the utes and sedans.

Lol Its sounds better if you convert it to HP a tad under 530 rwhp :) that was after fitting a bigger pulley to the blower to slow it down a bit .
but the engine is all pulled down now for a toughen up.

Personally I have never ruled that out (cam). never bothered to find out either.
after a few mods it took a cam change to wake my Tonner up.
they seem to be behind the utes and sedans with similar mods down the quater, but I think the diff is a bit of a power robber too.

I totally agree with you there John, regarding the diff. The 3.46 ratio is way too tall when behind an M6, especially in something as heavy as a Crewman.
Cheers
Chris.
