Have you guys had a chance to look at the VE braking system?
Any idea when you'd be looking at offering up some premium brake upgrades?

Cheers

im pretty sure that the hsv gts stops quicker than a lambo gallardo. dont know how much better brakes you would need...

No they are not, the HSV Range gets the revised AP Racing 4 Pot Calipers which stop extremely fast as mentioned. The Holdens get PBR's like always, however they are upgraded from the VZ and NO Where Near as good as the HSV's!!!

Would the Harrops need modifying for the VE? IE Will existing packages fit without having to replace calipers/discs... maybe it will require a different mount bracket.

The design of our VE kits are complete, and we are in the process of making the first test set at the moment. The offsets and sizes are significantly different on the VE ... nothing is interchangable with earlier models.

We should be able to post some pictures and prices within a couple of weeks.

I wonder how the VE HSV brakes will perform at the track (Circuit). They appear to be a one piece rotor and hat setup front and rear and I think they will be subject to extreme warping after getting very hot after only a few laps.

Should HSV have opted for a two piece rotor and hat system to allow at least a small amount of movement during the cooling phase ??.
I had long term problems with warping of original and later with quality aftermarket big buck brakes that could only be fixed by the use of fully floating rotors so I can imagine what will happen to the stock HSV brakes.

Ken will you be producing peg drive kits for the VE to allow for this problem ??

I wonder ... snip ... brakes.

It is our intention to offer a full range of packages that will cater for most applications ... from "everyday drives" through to "Track & Targa" through to "monoblock Supercar".
Just gotta know the demand is there to ensure it pays for the development and that we are not doing it as a charitable public service.

sweet. The VE SS brakes look way 2 small with the 20's.

I would be looking for just a front 4 pot / slotted rotor upgrade on mine and leave the rears stock

I would be interested to see how this kit compares to the HSV setup along with how much it is to put the HSV setup on a VESSV

Currently the only thing really making me want a VE R8 over the SSV is the brakes

You can buy a whole lot of brakes for the price difference between an SSV and an R8.
In fact, you could get an SSV with 20" wheels and Harrop brakes, and still have change left over to put towards a supercharger!

Cant use the R8 or GTS brakes coz of the different suspension setups

Is this 100% for sure?
Is the Harrop setup 'as good'? i.e. i think they have a 100km/h-0km/h test in motor at 37m or somthing...

How will all this effect the ESP......

I was of the understanding that HSV went to one size brakes to avoid having to recalibrate the ESP.

Cant you turn off ESP? I know i will be turning it off along with traction every time the car starts...

I will turn it off but only when having a fang. The missus will leave it on.....

I was just wondering how a change of brakes will effect the esp calibration not suggesting it wil stop it from working
