Hey all,

Not sure if anyone can help me out but i am after a colour code for my HSV VY Series 1 Clubsport. I am putting a Touchscreen in the dash and need to spray the facia as they only come in black.

Reason why i'm not sure if anyone can help is i rang HSV and they said there is no record of the colour code?????? Thats just plain stupidity if there isn't!!!

Has any one done this and can help me out with a colour????

THANKS

Here is my dash, it's a gold/silver sort of colour.

Once it is done i want it to look like this one. (found this image but can't track down who posted it)

Yeah should look good. It's an alpine (http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/products/product.php?model=IVA-W200&lang=en&tab=F) deck. I will definatly post it.

I found out the paint is called Anthracite and the code is 81i.

My next problem is 81i means absolutely nothing to me?????? How do i use this code now. If i goto bunnings or something will they have any idea what i am on about???

Hmmm the code is the interior colour code alright but it's not available as a paint as it isn't actually a painted surface I'm told, the plastic is made in the colour, I'm trying to find out if they can match the paint to the colour code.

Ask Dickie Knee, he lives in the part numbers thread. :bounce:

Yeah the plastic is acctualy made in that coulor, most higher end car audio shops should be able to coulor match it for you.

Yep just confirmed that they can't colour match the paint, well not from Holden's point of view, it'd have to be aftermarket sorry :(

Sounds strange that its not painted considering mine is peeling off on at least 4 different spots revealing black plastic underneath....

Really? I was told its made that colour by someone thats worked for them for 8 odd years and I trust his information... now I'm intrigued.

When I look at mine it doesn't seem painted, finish seems too "plasticy" to be paint if that makes sense?

I've had a few interior panels painted by guys who do bumper bar touch-up etc - always been a good match and paint finish, might be worth a try?

Sounds good. Can you give me some contact details. I am getting autobarn @ hoppers crossing to do it but looking for a fall back for them as they are not sure either.

I can send you some pics if you want. Definately black underneath.

The first bit of paint peeling happened after one of the kids spilt Mc Donalds BBQ on it.

The second bit is under the handbrake where the missus long fingernails scratched it.

I'd have to agree it must be painted on cause I have seen the same on my centre console, slight black scratch marks. Not many so not that noticable unless you look closely.

That grey was incorrectly called Anthracite. That is the generic interior colour, a near black for all sorts of trim items. The grey is called "dark tempest" on your facia and console, and is sprayed over the basic "SS Black" of other models.
Yes, a paint formula will exist, but it only exists for the manufacturer of the item for Holden to spray them correctly, not for the general public to know. Dealers don't know it either, so don't hassle us!

The scary bit is that quite a few aren't "intentionally" doing it.... !
