Attention all LS1-ers!

ARDC are holding a Supersprint (competitive track day) at Eastern Creek (in Sydney) on Sunday 15th October. It is round 8 of the NSW State Championship - however anyone can enter (as long as you have a CAMS L2S license and are a member of an affiliated car club).

Currently there are a few places left for this day, so ARDC are trying to get a few more entrants; so if you want to have a blast around Eastern Creek, contact ARDC directly; (02) 9672 1000, or send me a PM with your name and address, and they/I will get some entry forms sent out to you ASAP.

Cost is $165, and you can pay by cash, cheque or credit card. Typically you would get at least 7+ sessions consisting of 1 warm-up, 3 flying, and one cool down lap each. As it is a Supersprint, all laps are officially timed (under CAMS regulations), and results provided to you, and usually posted on the internet via Natsoft (www.natsoft.com.au).

Cheers!

Was a great day. Had a ball with the new car. Nearly had a big lose in turn one. Good to see Beej ripping off some great times. There was also couple of other LS1's out there as well.

Was that your one tonner with the clubby bar? If so car looks great and goes well too.

Definately doing the next sprint.

Yes it was certainly a fun day! Good that the rain held off as well.

Cruiser what was your race number?? I'm pretty sure I saw you running out there, but didn't get the chance to say "hi".

Justice - that new car of yours sure has some serious potential - sounds mean as hell and absolutely awesome screaming down the EC straight at 220+km/h, and posting a 1"48s time on a first outing while sorting the car is no mean feat! It will be good to see how it goes once you can get some traction!

I managed a few 1"52.5s for the day which I was pretty happy with - my previous best time at EC from last year was 1"54.45s. Only difference between last year and this year was a change from Dunlop to Bridgestone tyres, plus maybe some improvements in the steering department! ;)

Cheers,

Beej

Number 271 with the hsv bar,had the best time, cant wait till the next one!

Beej what mods in particular suspension mods have you done?

Justice, that car of yours is awesome, in the first run you came from nowhere, scared the $%^& out of me! I tried to keep up! Might have to go and see sam again! (after i rob bank)

My quickest of the day was 2min 1 sec- nowhere near quick enough, but not too bad for first time i spose.

I need to dial out a heap of understeer. Any tips? (you wouldnt think so in a tonner!)
Im running 17 x 245 bridgestone re55's koni adjustables, whiteline heavy duty front sway and strut.
Im thinking of an adjustable rear sway bar and camber kit for front.

Do you guys run at any other tracks/events?

I do some of the porsche days as well as the HSV owners club. Your car went well. Bet it surprised a few people at the track

For a new car, 1st run I was pretty happy. Best I got was a 1.46. I'll get Beej to check natsoft for me as that was timed by my guys. My aim is to get the car to break the 1.40 barrier. Its awsome down the straight but I didnt have time to corner weight the car. The car is running the suspension settings out of my VX which is a lot heavier which was causing a lot of off power oversteer as was seen in turn 1 with my almost lose. I am quite confident the car will get break the 1.40 mark.

That first session was funny. Did my warm up and cars were still coming out of the pits. Then started going past them. Would of loved to have my camera system setup in the car. Would have looked good.

I am running again early in November at a private EC day with the brute ute guys and will hopefully be able to just do some shock and bar adjustments on the day.
