I think that the Germans are working on a new Beetle, it is said yo be a bit bigger than the current model, but that is just getting out of hand.....

Unless the photos are scanned, maybe a squashed bug on a print. I thought they wouldn't print digital imagery then scan it in, what's the point?
Considering the focal length of the camera in a satellite, you wouldn't even see an object sitting on/in the lens. (let along have it perfectly focused).
Forget about the bug, I smell a rat! :yup:

Google maps use a mixture of satellite and aerial photography. If you zoom out a bit you will find the satellite images for this map are full of clouds, which disappear when your zoom in. The "giant" earwig is m ore likely to have crawled across the camera window in the bottom of the plane and give that high "f" stops make aerial photography easier, the bug is still in focus.
