Lofty I have a Pioneer DVR-530H-S, 80GB hard disk. I think the one you mentioned is the 160GB hard disk ? We got the 530 because you can record about 38 hours in SP (standard play time) which is more than enough, any more and we'd be in front of the tv 24/7....
It is brilliant. It gets hammered and easy to use. The fact that you can be recording something and watching something else or if you were recording the footy and came home at half time you could watch it from the start whilst it was recording in front of you. Also watch a DVD whilst recording a TV programme. Jodie records all of her tv programmes and then satrts watching them about half an hour later. That way she can fast forward the ads. Makes watching an hour show take about 40 minutes.
You can edit out the ads if it is a programme you want to keep....
Well worth the money, I don't know if I could ever go back to the VHS.
