Activation of membership??

Went to log on just before and was then told to send an email for activation of membership & couldn't go any further until got email.
Would it be my end or a site thing.
No biggie, but thought I'd ask the question.

It was because you didn't keep your email up to date. Any threads you subscribed to would have started bouncing emails back and the system flags your account as requiring email confirmation again.

Iv'e been here for three years and never updated my email.
Subscribed threads were comming in prior to this too.
