Harrop Engineering: Response to Malicious Rumours

There is absolutely no truth in the nasty and malicious rumour being propagated by some of our competition that Harrop Engineering is in "administration" or "receivership", such as posted in some lesser quality forums.
It is unfortunate that some companies are so insecure that they resort to initiating this type propaganda in an effort to boost their own standing in the industry. We can only assume they do this as they perceive us as viable competition.

We have refrained from responding or commenting until now, however we have been inundated by calls and emails from concerned customers and associates who feel that our silence has been adding to the speculation.

As the General Manager of Harrop Engineering I can assure all who are interested that the Company is trading as strong as ever, and are even thriving at a time when others are struggling. Supporting our long term viability is a significant increase in export sales to the USA, several projects for the supply of niche products to major vehicle manufacturers worldwide, an established and growing domestic market that enjoys our innovative projects, and by the release of several new products in coming months.

As quoted by Ron Harrop today: “We can only wonder at the motivation of starting such unfounded rumours”.

Having recently celebrated our Fiftieth Anniversary, we look forward to applying our considerable resources to “design develop deliver” to all our valued & future customers.

Tall poppy syndrome alive and well in Australia, people will always want to bring down the best, keep doing what you do and ignore them if at all possible. Harrop products & service are world class and IMO second to none, all the best for the next 50 years to everyone at Harrop.

It was nice of you to provide that V8 Supercar engine for the Bathurst telecast too for the "tech Center". I'm sure I'm not the only one who appreciates seeing technical parts like that. :cheers:

Nice work Ken, I don't think any of us would believe any of those rumours anyway, but good to get it cleared up none-the-less.

Btw if the blokes at Bathurst are finished with that engine feel free to send it my way :)

i have been a long time supporter of harrop engineering and its products.
Ron harrop has a good business and engineering brain . to all at harrop
engineering and tasman motorsport , keep up the excellent work .
It is un australian and a sign of weakness to spread such rumours
