Don't you mean a '06 VZ crewman?? what work do you do?? IMO the crewman is only half useful with a trayback. I visit a lot of construction sites and the feedback on them not the best work ute. If you need tray space 2 door is the go.
If you have some cash to play with I'd suggest looking at a hilux or even the new couriers (ford I know but a decent truck), and if they don't do anything for you rob a bank and buy an F250.

My parents own a demolition company so will be getting the car thru the buisness:lol: lucky me!!! But yes I mean vz, I do want the four door and just want a fast car as well so whats the pros and cons you get off the drivers you've seen. So price doesn't matter either. Yeah any ideas?

unfortunately next year you will be excluded from driving a V8 until you are 25. Have you driven/been in a new hilux?? The will hold a wrx (in 2 door version) and carry a heap of stuff, BEST UTE AROUND.
Sorry to rain on your parade, but best to think of things in perspective.

Lol no as from next year the laws start for Queensland (that's where I am). But if you get you liscence before July 2007 you do not have to abide bye any of the new laws (already done my research:lol: ). So does the hilux go pretty fast?

As for fast,...yes it is reasonably fast (just dont confuse fast with quick). As for loud, if its stock then NO. However both these aspects can be improved upon.By the way look up "compromise" in the dictionary.
Cheers

Sounds like you need to go and test drive,...a) an SS Crewman
b)V6 Hilux,Courier/Bravo
c)F250 (wild card)
This should give you the perspective you need with whats fast enough.
Cheers

you can take the exhaust off after the headers, will make it REALLY loud if you can compromise the police attention.
jokes aside, if its an auto get the box kitted out and throw in a high stall converter and replace the diff gears with some 3.91s or if you want more go 4.11s. then look at an exhaust and headers and then a good tune should make it quick, provided a company car is allowed modifications.
Also insurance could be a hassel.

rayrayla, I think you have got "compromise" confused or mixed up with "modifications". As for modifications, go to the search function and type in 'loud exhaust' , 'supercharger', 'turbo' just to name a few.

Zorak ss, Agood call regarding the exhaust, tune and diff gears. However the ratio of choice is 4.10 for M6 and 3.73 forA4. No offence mate but I think you have also got the word "compromise" mixed up with something else.

at first i was looking for a crewman,i wanted the ls1,the ute purpose ,and the four seater, the car seemed at the time, the best option, unfortunatly i spent an hour in the back seat, and there was noway i would let my kids through this kind of torture, great concept, bad design, the back is atrociously uncomfortable..
now if you dont intend to drive around kids on a daily basis, and need those back seats,to take chicks home on a Friday night booze party, then it might be a good idea..:yup: :bravo:

Dude, dude, dude, dude, dude you've got no idea. Compromise in the language of you and i means it can do a number of things but is only average at best when compared to models with a specific purpose. For instance the Crewman will cart around a bit of shit in the back while you take yer mates for a burl but it is not exceptionally good at doing either. A regular ute will carry more crap while a V8 SS Commodore is faster and will get yer mates around in more comfort.
The Crewman is the fastest the 4 door on the market (in V8 guise atleast) but go have a punt in the likes of the Triton, Navara, Hilux, Courier, F450 (lol) before you go out and buy one.

The drawback of the crewman is its massive weight. At 1900kg, it is a big, sluggish mutha of a thing and performs, handles, rides like the titanic. And then you realise its ugly as well. Full marks to Holden for effort, but the end product is a miserable compromise.

Yeah id be looking at an ss ute if you want something quick, stylish and loud but it would get knocked around a bit in the demo business and I can see you loosing your licence in under 6 months.
Id be looking at a hilux v6 in either format (turbo diesel suppossed to go alright too). The v6 gets along, you can make them look good - in 4wd guise you can take it anywhere and the tub can be removed and replaced if you knock it around too much.
With a hilux or other commercial you will have the option for a much more comfortable dual cab but i think you will find the trays in these become pretty useless if you are doing serious work!!
Good luck with it . .

If money is no object what about a CROSSX8 or even an AVALANCH XUV - Now that would be a nice machine to have

Adults can not sit in the back of a crewman for more then a trip to the local club. The seat is very small and only for sitting kids or power tools.
The back is very small for a builder so unless you have a trailer with most of your gear, you cannot carry an average builders tools.

Whats the deal with going fast man? You'll only wrap yourself around the nearest, solid inanimate object.
Diesel Hilux 4wd or similar would be my choice if your driving in and out of building sites carrying alot of tools and equipment. Turbo diesels aren't great for dragging off 4 bangers as most will leave u standing but they do pull like a steam train at low revs.

mate i think you better calm down on the whole "fast" thing. your either going to lose your licence, or ride the thing off, and do a whole lot of damage to yourself, or possibly someone else!! i know your proply heaps excited to get your hands on a v8, but dude i rekon you got to listen to yourself talking in this thread, and maybe consider that you might be a bit immature for something like a v8.
