vh-holden

Well, i entered the mighty vh in another motorkhana on the weekend. we did some improvements to the car since the last one. namely, changing a shock absorber. that's right A shock absorber. We had trouble getting the shock off the swing arm and busted up another ball joint so just stuck the old one back in one side. one side bounced, the other was more "normal"
Last time, Bazz and I shared the car, taking turns on the courses. This time it was me, but for some strange reason, there is even less tread on what were almost brand new tyres. I managed to pinch some off a mate for this meet, and now have a set of slicks. I think the strange reason might be the burnouts i was doing afterwards.
Anyway, to the actual racing. For the first 3 courses i was useless. Turns out, to get the car to slide with the handbrake, you need to lift off the accelerator. Got that sorted and improved for the next to. I should mention that I did have the wheels spinning for the whole of one course. It ended up being the slowest time, but was the most stylish.
In each event, i was around the bottom end of the field, which is understandable when the field was
lotus exige
r33 gtr
r34 gtr (owned by the same person that had the r34)
two motorkhana "specials"(buggies)
gemini
torana
lancer
corona
and a brand new VW passat diesel wagon.
Overall, i came 10th, of 11 finishers. I beat the VW, which was driven by a rather pregnant wife of the lotus driver.
About 10 other people did some of the tracks, but recorded DNF's for the whole day.
When i can be bothered, i'll get some videos up. No photos this time due to the untimely death of the digital camera.
