Advice #1: Get it fixed before you drive it again
Advice #2: Find out why it failed and go on an arse kicking spree whether it be a mechanic or Holden or whoever etc.

Tell Holden you want the originals replaced with a PBR 1 kit as you just don't feel safe with their brakes anymore.
Would be great if you could pull it off!

Nice of it to tell you the brakes had failed after you put ur foot on the brake and had the pedal hit the floor!

What, something like you don't feel safe with the PBR made originals, but you would with the still PBR made upgrade?
Yeah right.....

Probably dumped the fluid when the pedal was pressed.

I thought with dual circuit master cylinders that you still retain either rear or front brakes? I would have thought complete brake failure would be rare, isn't that the role of a dual circuit system to overcome complete faluire?

Have a look inside the booster. Although the common mode of failure is
diaphragm failure maybe the shaft or spring broke or jammed.

Booster failure normally result in hard brakes, not a pedal going to the floor,
so how did you get it to stop and have you checked if there is any fluid in the master cylinder?

had to go down in the gears n if u mash it hard it slowly comes to a stop

5000 k's from new i started to get a soft pedal in my vyss wgn turned out to be a leaking seal . the service guy said caught it just in time before it failed completely had it fixed under warranty.
should be easy to check, just look for the fluid on the inside of the rim

i'd say the diaphram distorted or come out of poisition (some how)

My thoughts too,,, this was addressed in the late 60's (duo servos) and even with diaphram failure you should still have brakes, although hard as.
