Hi Guys,

I have a question(s) to ask:

Does an EDI\Tune reduce wheel spinning on a car with 3.73 and a stock A4?

or Can I fix this by changing my A4 converter to say a 2800 or 3000 stally?

thanks in advance

Tune will make matters worse on stock stall

Stally and LSD are whats required.....along with the correct rubber for the job at hand......

While *BBB* runs 1.6 sixty footers at the track, this can also be emulated on the tarmac now the big barge is shod with some new boots *RE55's* = WOT on launch with zero spin......makes for an interesting ride indeed :woohoo:

OK thanks Markone2,

I have LSD already so I guess a stally is next then.

The right amount of nose up, squat and rear camber adjustment can make a big difference to how easy they spin. Improving hook up is worthwhile for safety as well.

Hey Oz,

Interesting point!

My Stato has lowered suspension alround (installed by the previous owner) and he retained the rear Self Leveling Ride Height Shocks which makes my car's backside sit up abit more.

So maybe that contributes to my 2nd gear fish tailing too.

thanks for that

ideally your meant to match your stall converter to the specs of your cam, if you want a converter that big I would suggest changing your cam too.

Edit will enhance your wheel spin experience :woohoo:

Thanks tuff.

I still have my stock cam.

Just a short note to think about, if you want the stally get it in before you go for the tune. 6 out of 10 cars will indicate a transmission fault and force the computer to limb mode. Cheaper option buy some street slicks, for the track.

Just a quick question?

How easily does your car do this on the street (fish tail & spin up)? I have been considering 3.9s for my car (auto, no stally) but have begun to sway towards 3.7s.

If its only when you 'want' it to (WOT etc.) i can live with it, but i dont want it to be happening when just cruisin with my girlfriend in the car, or worse, with her driving it!!!

Cheers, Stu.

this will only occur under WOT or when u stall it up and launch, wheelspin can be controlled by throttle position

Stu,

how are you mate? :)

How can I explain it....... 1st to 2nd (less than WOT) it fishtails, roll on when it kicks back to 2nd and then changes to third it wheel spins.

Hope this makes sense.

Perfect sense.

Thanks guys, I am really thinking I should perhaps consider 3.73s. I dont think I will be disappointed with that result!

Cheers.

Your thinking of the fords. No such problem in the LS1's. Its pretty rare to see a stally in an unedited car.

I'd also suggest better tyres. I can plant mine with the stroker and not loose traction on the street. Thats with 3.73's and a 3000rpm stally

An attempt at some light hearted humour here...
If as the title suggests a RWD vehicle fish tails.
Does a FWD when it torque steers.... 'FISH HEAD'?

Probably had to much to drink here.......

i agree voodoo

3.9s, std stall and cam, no worries on the street, and no fish tails to worry about thats for sure even at wot sure traction is an issue at shifts at that point but its only ever going to be as good as the road surface allows. seems like a a good set of tyres and maybe some throttle control would help here
