Hey all,
Was having a good look at the rear wings off of a Holden V8 supercar at the Sandown 500 and wouldn't mind trying to get my hands on one for my car. Does anyone here have any connections to sourcing one of these secondhand/not using anymore/last years wing etc??
Thanks
Dane

Oh, and Seldo, it would look nice on the Clubbie, but it's for this:

Ahh. The mysterious beast that is quicker than me.
What are it’s laptimes at Calder, Phillip Island, Winton and Sandown?

:)
I haven't run at calder yet, had a valve blow out of the rim on the day I was supposed to go...and my car was off the road for the only PI day we had this year with a broken gearbox and clutch unfortunately.
Sandown: 1:25.091 second time there
Winton: 1:39.863 first time there
It's off the road at the moment being rebuilt, with new strengthened box etc for next year, so I'm hoping to knock a few seconds off of both times.
And yours?
HSV -105: Thanks for that mate, I'll take a look, but I think I will be able to pick up one a little cheaper. I just missed out on a VT V8 supercar wing that went for $400 to a friend of mine... I offered $400 aswell, but a day too late!
GMP have also sold the one that was advertised last week unfortunately.
Your offer seems like a good one... but I'm looking at spending less than 6 figures :lmao:

You are way quicker than me PM. Gee you sucked me in with your comment that you were slightly quicker than my potential quickest time at Winton (and if I do a 1:42 it is still way behind a 1:39 (around 65 metres behind)).
My mods = harder pads and RE540s/RE55 tyres
Winton 1:44 (stuffed shocks and springs, should be quicker this year), car has done 1:43 with someone else driving on slower tyres & stock suspension
Calder 1:13 (should be capable of 12s or under)
Sandown 1:35 (should be doing 1:33)
PI = 2.02 (I am dog slow there but similar cars have done sub 1.58)
Your thing should be a weapon and a half – good handling, lightish weight and good power.
A friend of mine was selling the rear spoiler off Craig Lowndes Calder-smash HRT VT it looked pretty nice (9 adjustment points at the rear for trading off straight line speed against down force). How about asking a Fijitsu cup or a sports sedan racer if they have spares?

Ahhh very nice times for essentially a stock car! A friend of mine races his DC2 R and runs similar times to you.
Yeah, my car goes pretty well for a simple, relatively old car. But as you said it is light enough, has decent power and handles quite well. It's quite a good little package, and heaps of fun to drive! Once it comes back with some aero and some more power I should be able to cut a few seconds off each of those times.
Thanks for the heads up on the wing too, I'll look into that option as well. The wing your friend is selling sounds very similar to the one a friend of mine bought (the one I just missed out on). He paid $400 for it:
