Better acceleration for a VT

Hey everybody, just wondering what would be the best part or parts to get for $500 or under that would increase throttle response there for given it better acceleration. It's just that I am just learning all this stuff and could do with some advice. My car is a 97 VT auto.

bigger throttle body, ss induction, modified air box, extractors, exhaust...depends which way u wanna go or how much ur willing to spend.

If $500 is the budget and you dont intend to do any more mods a mail order mafless tune for around 400 is serious bang for your bucks.

Bigger throttle bodys are very poor value for money on a stock car.

Check out forum sponsor "Chipmaster", thay have a very good rep for mailorder tunes among other things.

Well the OP has stated it is a 97 VT, has a 5lt if its an 8.

Save your pennies, get a full exhaust, CAI, tune. Save even more and stroke it.

save a little extra and get the diff gears changed to a lower ratio ... more punch off the line and better acceleration

Dont spend any money on it save it up and get a v8 other wise you will spend money on this one and in the end you sell it and get a v8 anyway like i did;) .

Well best BFYB would be to fit 14" steelies with 185/75/14s, you should feel a difference in throttle response.
