Couldn't resist as I just got home:

1) Audi R8 - magnificent (as others have said isn't it funny how you can sit in a $200,000 A6 V10 and not open a HSV door...)

2) HSV GTS

3) BMW M6 convertible

Honourable mentions: Impressed by 380 Supercharged and Aurion concept design

Man if that rubber rubbed too hard there would be a bush fire dude - hope it comes with a fire extinguisher (probably in the form of a wedding band, or a Camry:love: )

Sonny, you little BS'er - C200? Come one man that's only like 2 of my cylinders. Good little package? They are a paper weight on wheels dude.

The only "good little package" is, 'Five feet two, eyes are blue, boy oh boy she sure could screw a twin turbo TT together well, has anybody seen my gal'.

Apologies to Al Jolsen. ;)

I doubt it ... He probably has her up on the Dyno - no wonder he was doing all the sound proofing ...

I liked the Audi A8 too and the Audi super coupe ( cant remember its name ) but bloody nice shape. The Mercs were impressive and the saab concept looked great imo. the shannons auction stuff was cool too, though the prices are all over the place .I love HK monaros but $130000 for a 1968 327 ?You can keep it pal !:lmao: Who is gonna be the first buyers to do their arse on the aussie muscle car scene ? starting to get way out of kilter with the reality me thinks .

1.VE Grange

2.VE Senator

3. The Mitsubishi chicks!! :yahoo:

I dont know if anyone else noticed, but if you havent gone to the motor show yet, have a closer look at the Black Jeep Grand Cheroke. when i was there the wagon door was open, and if you look down at the duel exhuast pipes in the center of the bumper, you will notice that they are not in line!!! one is significantly offset form the other!!. i would say there is a 4 - 5 mm offset. ok if your buying a getz, but i would take that back if i had spent (i think it was) 90+ grand!!

I dont know if pics were taken, as my brother took charge of the camera work, but if there is will post!

Cheers

Pete

Rather than just pick the best three cars I liked (if I won lotto), I went for the best three "affordable" cars...

Number 1 : The Senator.

Yes this surprised me too. I had no real time for it, till I saw it at the show... in black this car is beautiful...

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m265/jvohradsky/P1020437.jpg

Number 2: A Fraud!

Before you close this thread and move on, this is one beautiful colour. I know the VE kills it now, but this is one of the nicest Fords I have seen in a long time....

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m265/jvohradsky/gt.jpg

Number 3: Da Jeep

I know, this is a useless thing, too low, too fast, too much fuel, supposed to be 4x4 but would struggle over a pothole etc - but it looks so trick and you gotta lover those rear pipes. 6.1 litres, yeah!

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m265/jvohradsky/jeep.jpg

Special mention:

You gotta hand it to the clippon boys, these next two actually look pretty good, hopefully they will make it to production. We need something new to blow off at the lights :)

And the girls...

We saw a few already, but here is a "nice" girl that could actually make conversation...

Nope, that's from Sydney. My mate took them for a few of his small group of friends to look at but one of those said friends leaked the page and now they're out everywhere. We're still trying to find the mole. moley moley moley.

There were some nicer ones where they came from.

Steve.

No offence or anything, but i find that claim hard to believe, the photo is from this website, worldcarfans.com, and particuarly from the PARIS motor show, not sydney.

No offence taken. My bad but I kid you not, the photos I had a hold of had that exact same girl in that exact same outfit in the exact same pose that he had shots of from the press opening of the Sydney Motor Show. Could be the same model used by the company brought over to Aus and I can understand why. I'd put up a pic for comparison but he's taken them down now.

Like you said, I have no proof so I retract.

Cheers,
Steve

Here is a closer view of those pipes.

You can see how the Marketing guys said - "We want f*ck off pipes the size of watermelons coming out of the middle of the car".

The poor engineers had to then route the twin pipes from the immediate left hand side of the car to each side, then out the middle. Have a look at the mess under there !

Sorry Sonny, I thought you were being sarcastic - I was talking with my redneck showing, ( and a 1000 bourbies on board) I just love driving my VT Berlina - bigger sway bars, shocks, springs, strut brace, rear control arm bushes and better brakes. It is an absolute hoot to drive because it handles like on tram lines. Couldn't pull a maggot off a chop but feels like a little car.

It is easy to pooh pooh the big buck cars but you spend the dough for something - driveability is the only thing that would make me drag the $$$ out of my pocket. I used to think Lexus were for schmucks but after I bought a RX330 for wifey I realised how together the package was - smooth, accurate steering and unbelievable fuel economy out of a 2 tonne car. I gotta say it's nice to drive a daily car then get into the fun car.

Aaaah 5 speed auto , man I dream of a 5 speed auto. You sure know how to hurt a guy ;)

Gees Louise, I already said I was most likely wrong in my statement. I was sent a private link to some press photos my mate took of the Sydney Motor Show. In that same batch, now confirmed to me, were high-res pics from the above show. Forgive me for checking out the ladies and not reading the french writing. ;)

We all clear now or do I need to bring out the sandwhich board and walk down Brunswick St screaming "Salad - It's what food eats".

Steve.
