Was reading today that Jason Richards will be driving in VE Commodore this weekend at Simmons Plains. Shane Price is driving in Siromet Wines car #39 this weekend as well.

correct. The VE isn't able to be raced until next year, and that is only when the authorities give it the go ahead.


Which raises an intersting scenario..... As the VE isn't a V8 supercar the testing rules don't apply, and until it is a V8 supercar then the teams should be able to test to their hearts content...... or is there a rule I'm missing to cover this.

this was brought up on another forum, they are apparently testing some of the new components for the VE next year, but in a VZ body

Lowndes has escaped a points penalty for the incident up at Indy too, got a $15000 fine but no points lost

I think it will still be close though, Kelly has been consistant all year and Lowndes is debuting a new car this weekend

There has been some extensive testing of the VE by Todd Kelly so far for the aerodynamics for AVESCO and CAMS regulations, the VE will not be able to get on the track until next season. there is a limit on testing a VE as it is only for approval at the moment.
