Hey folks,
some weaners stole the rear wheels off my '05 SV8 (VZ). They are the stock 17" alloys (5 spoke) with brand spankin new Bridgestone tires.
Black SV8, wheels stolen out the front of my place in Mt Waverley on Monday night, and it was left on bricks.
If anyone happened to see anything, or know of anyone who has mysteriously turned up with a new 'spare' pair of wheels and tires, please let me know.

Worst part is, leaving you with two, means you can't just say "fug it" and get a new set of different wheels

I know it... if they took all 4 I would possibly have an 'excuse' to upgrade.
Now I have to get around with 2 emergency spares on the rear until Holden order 2 replacements.

I feel for you but why did they only take 2 ?

No lock nuts... standard as from the factory. There will be lock nuts on them now though.
Why did they only take 2??? Beats me dude. Half expecting the other 2 to disappear as well!
Maybe they use them at burn out comps or something. Or maybe they have been watching too much fast and the furious Tokyo drift?? Maybe they ran out of bricks?? Short attention span? Can't count? Hell if I know.

Hmm.
Your insurance is up to date ?
suppose you can't do much more than that.. unless you want to sleep on your car and so forth.
Ran out of bricks.. that is funny.

at a guess i would say its probably easier and faster to steal 2 rims as opposed to 4, probably get the other 2 from another vehicle else where

hey, you know what... my girlfriend has done some minor gutter checks and there are a few small scrub marks on the front alloys. Might explain it??
Thanks for the spelling lesson. I deal with the yanks alot so I'm used to tires and aluminum wheels!

locknuts won't stop them all, stop some. depend on how good the locnuts are too.
i was just curious if this was one with locknuts fitted or not to get a % in my head of the ones with and without. so far only heard of a few with locknuts going.
i have a set of gorilla locknuts and a set of normal ones, so 2 on each wheel.

wow... 2 sets of different lock nuts on each wheel eh? What a sad state of affairs... I think I'll just hook mine up to the battery.

sounds like a good idea, my cousin did it to his A9X on his farm because everytime he let one of his dogs out it would run straight over and pee on the front right rim nowhere else, dog never did it again after that..

hey man when my mates wheels got stolen the best thing to do was to tell the coppers i know they cant do much, and also, go to any local tyre shops and tell them about it, i know it sounds stupid but you never know, also ask neighbours not just the immediate ones, but even a few doors down. Hopefully some one saw some thing and will give you a hand with it..
shits me to hear things like this..f*cking w*nkers. :cussing:

Depending on how you go about it you could come out OK. Some of the Melbourne sponsors have those rims brand new far cheaper than Holden, plus they are often available on eBay quite cheaply. Eg from Autosurplusparts who I think are really Ballarat Holden. Bottom line is if insurance will pay up on price of rims and tyres as quoted by Holden you can then get them far cheaper elsewhere.
Whatever you get, get some Gorilla locknuts, only available from Wheel King in Moorabbin (forum sponsor).
