Hi All,

Unfortunately my favourite and trusted mechanic (good boys at PT) don't take Fleet cards for servicing :bawl: and I'm not very excited about leaving Holden's finest to the task of servicing the car. So does anyone in the Brisbane area (preferably North but will travel) have a good mechanic that does accept fleet cards?

Cheers,
Dave

They mainly do LPG, but they've got over 12 years experience with Holdens

Metropolitan Autogas
1/80 Lever Street
ALBION Q 4010

07-3256-0333 - Bruce, Scott or Tanith.

The shop looks like a crap bomb went off in it, but damned good mechanics.

Cheers

JOHN

Unfortunately I think fleet card isn't widely used for servicing by the smaller guys (ie PT) so you may be restricted in who (other than a Holden Dealer/Ultra Tune/Kmart Tyre and Auto) accepts Fleet Card. Might be an idea to contact Fleetcard or their website for any alternatives.

The organisation I work for used to use Fleet Card, but have now switched to Fleetcare for novated leasing running cost packages (ie. petrol/servicing/tyres). I used to get my car serviced at Village Petrie with the FleetCard, but now I get it done at PT because we have the ability to submit the Tax Invoice after the service to our employer and get it reimbursed, so I'm not locked into using Fleetcare. Not sure on your packaging situation, but good luck.

Be careful with your Fleetcard at dealerships - I've known service advisors to go mental with the upsell and useless crap using the imprint. One bloke did it to the point where the customer told the fleet salesman he bought the car from, that the Falcons in their fleet were cheaper to run overall than the Commodores...

A word from the wise - make sure you authorise ALL purchases that you have to pay for and you are within your rights to refuse to pay if you haven't given the OK. Fleetcard users are considered fair game because the orange card requires no authority from Custom Fleet (the gold one does), and its your company car - you don't pay for it, so who gives a rats??

As an advisor, I rang first to get the OK, but I used to see the latter attitude when it came to company cards and it was relatively easy to get upsell that way rather than Mr & Mrs Public. The motor industry pays such shocking wages (if you don't upsell you become eligibile for the Low Income Rebate on your tax return - true) you'll always see someone trying to get an earn out of you.

Not everyone's a bad bastard in the motor industry, but I left because I couldn't sleep at night with some of the things I had to do to earn money - yes, I'm glad i'm out of it. I'm not bitter - I had some great times, have many mates still in the trade and loved the buzz of getting a sale, but I'm on twice the money with much less hours and no conscience probs :D

Cue in planetdavo and his funny bleatings about how everyone's a retard except for him :flip3:
