Holden "Ignition" orange vs Ford "Octane" orange

Walked past a Ford dealer today and noticed an orange XR6 sitting on the lot in a colour that is near-as-dammit to Ignition - found out later it's called Octane. Practically the same shade, same gold metallic flecks.

Then I remembered reading an article saying that the VE's colours and trims were picked by Sharon Gauci, who came over to Holden after doing work for Ford.

She must really like that shade of orange...

its also very close in colour to the BA model blood orange.. looks like mine does in certain angles of light, water, shade etc. Sorta looks more like a faded blood orange.

edit: just noticed you're in canberra mate, would that have been at john mcgrath woden??

still look very similar though. i wish i had put some silver flake through it when i had the chance though, would have added to the whole "custom" touch.
