I have a VY II SS. I want to know what code is the engine. Is it L98 or whatever? Also, where would it have been manufactured. I have heeard that some are made in the states and some in Mexico.

LS1. Manufactured in St. Catharines Engine Plant, Ontario, Canada.

It will definitely be an LS1. Not sure how to tell where it was manufactured but someone (I suspect planetdavo) did a post a while ago on how to interpret all the different parts of the engine number. Will have a bit of a look for you and see if I can find it but if I don't get back to you and nobody else comes up with answers you'll have to hunt for it yourself.

The L98 is assembled in Mexico
