Just a whisker in the top 10 shootout. Skaife beat GT by 0.08 secs.
Great front row though. And Lowndes is back in 11th. Not a good spot to be at Tassie where there are very few overtaking spots.
Rick in 6th.

In a way I'm glad GT did a motor in this race. He was able to finish and in 4th. Not bad at all. Would've been worse if the motor let go early in the race tomorrow.
He really drives this track well. And with Rick one spot ahead he will offer him great protection tomorrow. Lets hope the rain does not impact too greatly tomorrow

I hope it is wet tomorrow to make it a little bit more exciting.
How does the exit from the pits comply to any standards, the way it throws the cars out into the action is nuts.
I'm quickly getting board with tracks that have more positional changes in the pit stops than on the track.
Has Skaife's left rear wheel man started swimming home yet?
Great drive by Brighty and what a honey he has waiting for him in the pits.
I hope Rick gets a win tomorrow.
Giddyup, Geoff.

would be nice to see some consistency from the officials in handing out penalties. Kelly cut the pit lane, and didn't cop anything for it. If that was Lowndes, we all know what would have happened. Shame about Lowndes being involved in the crash too.
ford winning 4 years in a row must be too much for V8 supercars to handle, gotta do everything possible to cut Lowndes lead, and spoon feed holden to victory :teach: i wonder how much holden is paying :p

Come off the grass! Have you checked for terrorists under your bed too...? Whilst we'd all acknowledge that some of V8SC's penalty decisions seem a bit strange sometimes, they are just as strange to the Holden boys as they are to the Ford camp. Best way to avoid them is not to transgress....:eyes:

And what about the Garth Tander weigh in issue. Misses the top 10 shootout because of it and then get reinstated but because the shootout had already ben done he got slotted in at 11th.
The V8SC officials make dumb decision based on stupidity not the badge the car is wearing.

Anyone else finding CH10 telecast getting hammered with commercials more and more lately. What shits me the most is when we watch the saftey car do two or three laps and then cut to a break and 5 minutes of ads (yes I was watching the clock) later they come back and the race has gone green two or three laps ago.
Are they cashing in as much as they can before they loose it to CH7???

I agree that today's coverage was piss-poor. It was more obvious than usual that this race was a delayed telecast - especially on return from ad breaks.
What made it stand out more though, was the gaps when CH10 changed which race group they were following - little gaps of 10 - 30 seconds in time were obvious.

simply stirring the pot guys. My main point of focus is that the officials have made some really poor decisions, both against ford and holden. At a critical part of the season, they should aim for some consistency.
Would be a lot more exciting end to the season if Lowndes/Kelly could have gone at it with f*ck all points between them.. however, such is sport, and it's not always gonna fall that way. Not taking anything away from Kelly, if the situation were reversed and Lowndes had jumped in front, i'm sure i'd sit there and accept how it panned out.

all this talk of rick being consistent and deserving the title is crap. im sure none of the people sprouting this said the same last year when rusty was consistent. rick has had 1 race win this year, lowndes 5 and GT 5 from memory. both with plenty of positions. in my opinion if anyone deserves the title its one of those blokes. be interesting to see if someone uses next years point system with this years positions to see who ends up where.

I think its crap that the guy who has won one race, no rounds is looking like winning the championship. As everyone said, GT and lowndes shouldbe the ones fighting for it, 5 wins a piece and having a go!. I can't stand rick either, sounds like a whinny kid! 1 bad race and lowndes will be back up! but i guess he only needs to play it boring and easy and take the win!

You cannot knock somebody playing by the rules. Same thing last year with Ingall. We all had to cop that one on the chin too. I think he only had one win for the year aswell. But he was consistant and the way the point system is set up that is the way to win the championship.

I think Rick has matured both as a race driver and a person, yeah he had his quirks, i like the guy, he is a true competitor
I have to feel for Skaifey, is it bad luck or bad management, he blitzes the field in practice and the shoot outs, and fails in the races, i hope next year treats him better.
And for the Ford fans,it is not over with Lowndes, he is only 70 points behind, one bad race by Rick and Craig is back, personally i hope Craig goes out on the first lap, but then again i am biased

Now Im a Holden fan through and through. But one thing I hate is when someone's brand, star whatever is not winning is to blame everyone elese. It corruption or the officials or some other crap! When Ford one the championship the last few years they did by having the better car. Didn't hear me saying how much was Ford paying for them to win!!!
