I drive in Sydney city and north side every day. There was the promo on Tv, the Airship at Bathurst, Yet I have not seen one new VE yet on the road. There's VE's at the dealers and some VE owners are in the forums. But how many sales have Holden made? When the BA Falcon rolled out I saw heaps within weeks.
Previous Holden models hit the streets quickly too.

I've seen heaps of them lately around melbin.
Mainly SV6's and SS's and the odd E series HSV.
And for all the mitsu 380's I have seen at all this year is around 15 of them.

I drive along Victoria road to the city every day on a 40 min trip and i have to agree, i dont see many at all, maybe 1 or 2 a day and they could be the same car, i do see the odd SS or Calais on the weekend but im quite surprised how little ive seen. I did expect more at this stage. I keenly keep an eye out for them for do do eventually want one , i think my VT is getting tired.

In Melbourne the Calais-Vs have taken over. They seem to be everywhere, especially in the CBD. If its like that now, imagine what it will be like in a couple of years. Are people only buying the Calais-V?
Seems I hardly see Omegas.

All those baby boomers using their equity. Why bother about 5-10grand diff when your house has gone up 100% and you can have a shiny new CalaisV.

you guys are kidding arent you?
Theres quite a few out west in Penrith, maybe we've got taste
Travelling from Penrith to Artarmon I pass 5 or 6 at least. I went out earlier this morning for a quick drive and passed an Omega. yestersay between Parramatta and Penrith I spotted 2x SS in the opposite direction on the M4, and we had a silver SV6 in front of us at the offramp.
They are out there, maybe not in Sydney :stick:

Theres enough in Newcastle already to see a few most times you go out.

Azimuth is right, sure we all see them but you would expect to see more by now. The uptake doesn't seem to be as quickly as previous releases. I think this whole media beat up Petrol prices scare has dampened their sales considerably.

Don't mention Camrys. I can't believe how many new Camerys I've seen around. It's a plague I tell you!

I bet the new model with the 4cyl only is winning more of the family retail buyer that would usually buy the Falc/Comm. Its crazy the amount im seeing in Perth.

VEs are a pretty rare sight in Bribane as yet but I will add to the numbers as of Monday morning with my Calais V, 6 litre with 20" wheels.
Was supposed to be last Thursday (car arrived Wednesday) but dealer pre-delivery issues!! Don't you love those last minute bombshells.
Into Brad and the Mr Muffler boys at Sumner Park the week after for hearders, custom cat back, diff change and performance filter.
Then a while until I loosen it up and will go MAFless tune, tweak the gearbox, install a cam and small stallie.

at first i was getting a bit worried they werent selling,
but since ive been on holidays driving around from here and there all day ive seen heaps. everything from omega to CalaisV. The omegas and berlinas are common on the highway from geelong to melb. I see an SS or two whenever i go into geelongs cbd. havent seen a HSV on the road yet, though, but friends have. Some guys are decking out a warehouse over the road from my parents workshop and the two guys running the show both drive blakc VEs. one SSV and one CalaisV. nice looking rides.
Im not worried now, especially since people are saying waiting times are now stretching out till feb/march, they cant be selling too badly!

Sat behind a WM Caprice today for a few kilometres along King Georges Road in Sydney. Driver was doing about 50 in a 70 zone, which suited me nicely to have a good look. Plenty of VEs in Sydney's South.

Maybe they are all lined up at Dealer service departments getting recalls fixed
I drive around the streets of Brisbekistan a lot during the week and I see dozens of the Holden variants..... I'd love to know where all the HSV's are hiding though, I've seen two R8's (badged as GTS's :limpy: ), and nothing else.....

Probably worth noting before I get flamed, as some people here have no sense of humour, I see alot of Omega VE's in the Wollongong and SW Sydney, but yet to see a VE HSV on the road.

Travelling on the M 4 everyday I see about 3 4 VE's every day - and rising!. At the beginning of the launch it was only SS's or Calais V's. Lately it has been Omegas. Funnily enough I have seen quite a number of Caprices as well but only two Statesman so far!

in the last few weeks, I've covered about 4000 ks between sydney, albury, cooma and tamworth. I don't think that I've seen more than about 2 dozen VE's in all that time. And only one in ignition. Guess when my ignition SSV arrives next month, it will be visible. Looks like the thing missing from the order will be the sat nav. Late 2006 must mean 31 Dec!!!!

I saw a nickel senator at ingleburn on sunday looked smick .. wife said so as well.
Also noticed a Caprice last Friday NSW plate " 10 " some sort of flashing lights arrangement on the dash and with 2 uniform coppers in it.
Was this the Commish's car ?
PS the coppers looked like they had a few stripes /pips on their shoulders.

I have a decent drive from home (Parramatta) to work (San Souci), which takes me just over an hour in traffic...after reading this thread I thought I'd see how many VE's I could spot on the way home...I only counted 7 - 2 SS's, 3 execs, 1 Omega & 1 Berlina...
I thought I'd see more as well... :hmmm:
Maybe there aren't that many in Sydney after all...

I’m on the road for 2 hours a day and have seen the Holden Blimp go over more times than I’ve spotted VE’s on the road - 2 ssv’s, 2 Calais and 1 Omega.
Still haven’t seen anything of the HSV variety.
4 cylinder Euro cars are all the rage where I live.

Well, there seems to be a few of them floating around the eastern suburbs of Brisbane, like Capalaba, Carindale, Mount Gravatt, etc. Sure there are some dealers in these areas, but they are registered ie. no dealer plates! But there is a lack of HSV's so far imho.

I have seen quite a few now in the Albury/Wodonga region - took a while mind you and I saw and photographed a guy's black GTS - they really look the biz in the flesh, luv 'em. And my VE SS will be here in a fortnight too so there'll be another one cruising around! :D

Driving home today on Henry Lawson drive I seen two more white VE omegas within one minute of each other. The first was cruising and the second one was tearing up along the road to catch it, seemed to be going 80 in a 60 zone in peak hour traffic :fewl: . Then 5 minutes after that I seen a Blue SV6 VE parked along the side of the road on his mobile being the good citizen.

P.S I see 5 every day easily now, there popping up.

I live in the northern districts of Sydney and see an increasing number of VE's as each day goes by.
There are alot of new Camry's as well, but most of them seem to have that little white bar code on the rear and side windows...... bloody rental cars....... Toyota have dumped a shitt load of new Camry's to the rental car companies to inflate their sales, unlike Holden !!!!!!
It would be interesting to see both models private sales as I think Holden is doing much better !!!
The Camry (and Corolla) have become mundane fleet fodder, so why on earth would anyone buy one privately these days is beyond me. The used car market must be swamped with Camry's and Corolla's now, which will only drive down their resale values.
On a brighter note, what has surprised me though is how many new Statesman/Caprices I've seen in Sydney already, the black ones look really slick. :headbang:

hey at least they know the fix to the problem
Mums BF XT LPG "Taxi spec" Falcon has been back 3 times now, twice on a tow truck because it simply overheats and shuts down.
Ford have said on all 3 occasions its a known issue with LPG cars, dont thrash it (which she doesnt anyway) and they'll just reset fault codes and let it go ...
Whats worse is its known in Taxis and cop cars, but this one is driven around town like any normal car, well looked after, not thrashed ...
Also noticed a Caprice last Friday NSW plate " 10 " some sort of flashing lights arrangement on the dash and with 2 uniform coppers in it.

I cant remember if its "10" or "20" (its one of the 2) but I know RFS Commish Phil Koperburg always has the latest and greatest Caprice RFS car which usually has the RFS insignia on the doors (just the logo - no stripes) and the internal "unmarked cop car" lights on the dash and of course a radio antenna somewhere on the car.
Last time I saw it it was a VZ Caprice, havent seen what hes got for the VE so I dont know if its got the RFS insignia on the doors or not, and for the life of me I cant remember whether its "10" or "20" but its definately one of the 2. :woot:

A few of you are a bunch or sore loosers. The way to defend VE recalls is start slagging the opposition. I am sure we all have stories of badly handled warranty claims, and I am sure this is another one.

You are the one who took this thread off topic in the first place by making a smart alec comment about recalls. And if you want to talk about slagging the opposition, I have noticed that you seem to jump on every opportunity to have a dig at Holden, then try and justify it by claiming it was humour.
You can give it but you can't take it.
On a quick trip from Wollongong to Nowra saw 4 SS or SSV, Black, Red, White and Blue. Saw 3 of the base model thingys too. They starting to come out of the woodwork.

It was strange that before i picked up my Ignition VE I hadnt seem an Ignition coloured one on the road, but the weekend I took delivery I saw 2 (both SS-Vs aswell). 1 in Castle Hill and and 1 near Shoalhaven Heads.
