SS-V Colour options - confused

Hey all,

I am placing an electronic order for an SS-V (long story) and want to have the following:

- Black exterior
- Dark charcoal interior. No orange or red dash tops or seat inserts. Just a charcoal interior. I dont care what colour the back the the gauges are.

I did some research using the Holden website. The Holden website colour chooser thing has me confused:

- I have selected the black paint, which is called Phantom Metallic - correct?

- For the interior, I selected Onyx as this appears to be the charcoal interior, correct?

BUT

When I select Phantom Metallic paint and Onyx interior on the Holden Build and Price page, down the bottom right it says:

Instruments/Dash:
Redhot/Onyx.

What does that mean? Does it mean the instruments will have redhot background (like one I have seen) or does it mean the dash top, seats and God knows what else may have red in them?

I just want a plain charcoal interior everywhere. No hero colours other than perhaps the backgrounds on the guages.

As you can imagine, its not something I want to make assumptions on as getting it wrong would annoy me. The site just isnt quite clear enough on it, even though logically instruments = redhot and dash=onyx would seem to be what they mean.

Your advice would be really helpful.

It means what you think it means - the instruments will be red, but the dashboard, seats etc will all be black.

Thank God for that - I was starting to wonder if they would force me to have red insets and red parts of the dash if I went onyx interior! I didnt really like the duracel battery look of some of the last Monaros....

If the seats are clothe im pretty sure they have a bit of red in them too, but the dash is a definate no

He's going an SSV SCIFIRE so it's leather trim.

With that combo you'll get the red gauges and onyx dash, here are some photo's of mine from my thread to give you an idea....... :headbang:

Still reckon the handbrake and the red centre console glowing brightly isnt as good as it could be!

Soo.....must ask, how are you finding it, in particular power/acceleration, engine, handling and braking?

1. Power/acceleration - heaps better than my stock VY II SS LS1,
2. Engine - 6 litre what more can you say ?
3. Handling - brilliant, and apparently even better lowered which will be happening shortly.
4. Braking - improvement on my VY II SS, would love some AP Racing or the like on there.

Checked my new SSV at the dealer yesterday before the PD and accessory fitment starts. All black leather interior with no orange on the dashtop (exterior is ignition).

Thats right guys, Three interior colours to choose, and they come with matching dash top, Red,Orange and Black.
